Performance Well done today boys if we play like that all season we can go all the way. I would like to reiterate Smittys comments about the pitch and all the work the three Bramham Legends have done. Lets not think they do it for themselves boys what do they get out of it compared to us? Its is Deighton on Tuesday night and nothing but 100% will do,they will rightly want to avenge last years double that we did over them. Lets keep the momentum going lads and take this good start further. See ya Tuesday, and Rich let some more air out of them Balls heh heh Posted by Jay on 21 August 2010 Committment Another season is upon lads, and I just wanted to point out a few things that we as players need to start doing this season if we are to take that next step up and push for honours this season.Richard,Mick & Lenny have put in a massive amount of work behind the scenes this close season to get the changing rooms sorted, and got the pitch looking the best it has since I have been at bramham. So I think it is only fair that we as the players start to re-pay these stalwarts for their hard work & committment by getting Bramham to the top, where the facilities & committment of these Committee members belong. This though can only be done by all the players showing more committment not only on the pitch but just around the club itself. The club has arranged a night out for us in septmember, for 1st team & 2nd team players for what could be a club bonding night, yet we seem to be lacking in people committing to this. The clubs has said that we will train, during the winter months so that we can keep a good level of fitness up and get a good team morale going, but this can only be done if people are committed and turn up,its in our own best interests lads if we want to win things this season. What Im trying to get at lads is,these 3 people have/are putting alot of work in behind the scenes on a matchday & leading up to a match,so lets all just pull together and help each other out, because they only want what we all want and that is for the club to be successful, but we have all got to pull together!! Posted by Smitty on 17 August 2010 Race meeting Any news on the race meeting at Doncaster next Friday? Is it still on? Hasn't been much information about it...Cheers Tosh Posted by Tosh on 29 May 2010 Just waiting on confirmation of bus but will be a 4.30 meet in Square Posted by Rich on 30 May 2010 Cheers Rich , really looking forward to it..Will have to leave car at mums & dads..Is there any spare places? Posted by Tosh on 30 May 2010 not sure yet. looks like we may have to charge a fiver for the bus fare for players and WAGS (I have yours X 2) Posted by Rich on 31 May 2010 Cup Final Absolutely over the moon after Saturdays victory boys. Extremely proud to be part of what was a very well deserved victory. Lets go out in style on Saturday and forget past results,Saturday is a one off which we have a great chance of winning. I think the whole league wants us to do this and i know we are more than capable. Lets make sure we give a good account of ourselves and you will be surprised at the outcome. I know i am a miserable sod and i get on everyones nerves its just i have been honoured to play in some outstanding Bramham teams, players like Lee Jones, Gary Shooter meant you had 6 or 7 captains out there every week. I have the honour of leading you out on Saturday against a very useful Thirsk team. And believe me when i tell you its a very proud moment for me. And this team we are building at Bramham is as good as any i have played in. Lets go out with a Lions Roar not a whimper. Thank You JAY Posted by Jay on 27 April 2010 Good luck on saturday Posted by col on 29 April 2010 Today Well done today boys, very impressed with the level of commitment all over the Park. Posted by Jay on 11 October 2009 Visit to Slaithwaite I would just like to say congratulation to your 2nd string on a great result against Skipton (03/10/09), and offer a warm welcome to all at Bramham FC from all at Slaithwaite United for our cup game on Saturday. Posted by Paul Daniel on 06 October 2009 Thanks Paul, We look forward to Saturday, and whilst I am sure I will be speaking to your secretary if you have directions to your ground I can publish them directly onto our website, which might help to ensure our boys arrive on time!! Posted by Rich W (Sec) on 06 October 2009 charity we recieved a letter today with thanks from ronald mcdonald house brian is going to forward a copy for your records. many thanks for all your support Posted by ryan on 02 October 2009 Thanks Ryan, much appreciated Posted by Rich on 03 October 2009 Yesterday I dont actually remember having a chance on goal yesterday to be honest as the Bramham Front two were constantly being ignored. I do remember however constantly providing chances for the rest of the team to Waste consistently. Contrary to the Match Report there was nothing wrong with Bramhams Frontline that a couple of decent passes wouldnt have remedied. Toothless Midfield and Shambolic Defending cost us yesterday i fail to see what else needed to be mentioned. Id appreciate this being Published Richard. Posted by Jay on 27 September 2009 bark cup weldone on satarday keep it going hope me will get boston in 1 of the rounds from gaz shooter. Posted by g.shooter on 21 September 2009 No mention in the match report of the wondeful save from Chris "The Cat" Elliott off a deflected shot. How disappointing. 2 games in goal, 2 wins, 2 goals conceded. Oh dear. On this form I may get the job permanently. Brilliant. Posted by Elliott on 23 September 2009 well done lads keep it up i might be back oliver Posted by on 24 September 2009 Training Would just like to say,how enjoyable the training session was last night.Dont know how everyone else felt, but that was just exactly want was needed. Was good to have someone there taking the full session.A special Thank You should go to Simon for the way he made it enjoyable but worthwhile aswell.Would be better seeing a few more faces up there aswell. As we all know every team should train, and it is good to see the club making an effort in such a way that will only benefit the players in the long run. Posted by Rich on 03 September 2009 Dan Marshall Thanks Again To Dan Marshall and All Kirk Deighton Management for there Praise. Ive known Dan and Paul for a number of years and they can never be criticized for not trying to pass the Ball and play good football, Yer a credit to the Club Danny Boy!!! Posted by Jason Wright on 30 August 2009 Appricate the comment Jas, look forward to the return at your place later in the season. All the best. Posted by Dan Marshall on 01 September 2009 Thanks Jase for your comments over the last couple of weeks. It is great to see Bramham back near the top of the league and playing good football. Good luck for September and beyond. Hope we are both in the mix come April. All the best Fenny Posted by Paul Fenton on 03 September 2009 Stuart Just a quick thankyou for all the messages received over the last couple of weeks. Its obviously been a very difficult time for all the family, but my parents have been greatly strengthened by all the messages received from the Bramham area. Stuart was very popular around Garforth but my parents didn't really appreciate how well thought of he was further affield. Stuart played for Bramham for approx 12 seasons and enjoyed every minute. Anybody who has ever played football will know that the lads you play with year in year out allmost become brothers and I know he was deeply upset when close footballing friends left us to soon, you know who I am talking about!!! He would be very proud of the way the season has started, I know he was a regular visitor to the website. Thanks again Chub Posted by Chub on 29 August 2009 Hey Very sorry to learn of your loss Condolences from myself and my family Jez Posted by jez dove on 09 September 2009 Performance Boys just to let you know how proud i am to be a part of the Team that Turned over Deighton in there own Manor. No i am not pissed i am actually at work. The attitudes last night were superb. I know the Deighton Management and they were very Magnanamous in Defeat, maybe they should just have a little bit more control over what there Lads put on Facebook. But Credit to Deighton they do play nice Football almost a little Bit too Nice, There Forward Line is slower than ours Heh Heh Credit to all Staff But Mainly Mick Rich and Jacko, its starting to feel like a Proper Football Club Again. Posted by Jason on 26 August 2009 Jason,I know your comments were writen without the knowledge of those published by Dan Marshall as I've uploaded them simultaneously. Why suddenly because bramham have gone up have the powers that be allowed 4 teams up? It made that last game against Brafferton pretty pointless! Posted by Neil on 11 May 2009 Congratulations Well done to Jacko and the lads on finally getting out of division 3 , it was doubly pleasureable and quite ironic to see you go and win promotion at Brafferton after what happened last season . Hopefully Otley finishing 2nd in the 1st division means the first team hold on to their spot in the top division and get another crack at it next season. Posted by Ted on 06 May 2009 well done i would like to thank every one of the players who played this season. I think that going up was just reward for the season we had. Having 8 men, never having any subs and even having Jacko in goal! Posted by junior aka oneye on 07 December 2008 football Well done lad u all did me and chubby proud and great feeling to know the sprite is still outthere.......NOW BRING ON P BRIGDEND SOMETHING LIKE THAT...(:AND NOT FORGETTIN bed-ale in senior cup Posted by junior aka oneye on 07 December 2008 Well Done well done yesterday to everyone involved with the club, in true Bramham tradition we didnt do it easy but we did it. I think that was the best performance of the season because we started Faster than they did and we got into em. This is the first time that i think we cant be at fault for a slow second half start, they were always going to come at us 100 miles an hour they were in shock at half time. With confidence the way it is at the club we could have ended up easily losing that game and Mark Tasker needs a special mention for two absolutely astounding saves. Well Done Boys Proper Proud. Rich i have only lost half a stone but im sure i will find it by next week. Posted by Jay on 07 December 2008 Well guys whilst I am enjoying being with Jacko and the second team, it was great to get back to watching a first team game. Very impressed with the start when we could easily have turned around 4 up. Conceeded a couple of soft goals then Mark pulled off a couple of saves right out of the top drawer, which would have graced any ground in the land. The winner, an absolute Gem from Joe who has been so impressive in the 2nds this season. Good player, brilliant attitude, chuffed he's in the club! Jason, still a class above anything in this league, and unless my eyes are real bad looks a stone or so lighter, or is it just the new kit that flatters!! Well done lads, much of the football was a pleasure to watch Posted by Rich on 07 December 2008 chubbs i am still free to play chubbs all it is a phone call . Posted by rocker on 27 November 2008 Rocker, I would love to see you back at bramham, but being 100% honest with you, I don't need any more centre halves, I have 4 already. I also wouldn't want Jason to be travelling any more than he already does. Posted by chub on 28 November 2008 Agreed Cant say i disagree it is a little bit disheartening at the moment. We are so close to being a very good side but we are not switched on enough all over the park. And i include myself in all thats good and Bad at the moment lads we just have to keep doing what we are doing and we will come good, pointless pointing fingers we are all shit at some point. Posted by Jay on 24 November 2008 Hat Trick I cant believe i get a Hat Trick and an assist and Chubbys on a go slow with the match Reports. When he scores he has the laptop out at Half Time. If Arsene calls and i cant show him how im doing i wont be happy. Get it sorted Rotund one Posted by Jason on 24 November 2008 Been a bit slow, but when you are leading three times and still loose the match you loose the enthusiasm to rush for the computer. Will do it tonight, promise! Posted by chub on 24 November 2008 Guess what? The mention of the Christmas fixtures has brought my one-track mind wondering if we are having a Christmas 'bonding' session this year? Few drinks & a laugh ...Obviously we would struggle in the White Horse with one & The Red Lion with the other!!! Hopefully we can get something sorted this year...Any interest out there? Posted by Tosh on 20 November 2008 sort tosh!! i have your back hmmmm team bonding Posted by junior aka oneye on 22 November 2008 need that Junior to english phrase book again!!! Posted by on 22 November 2008 would be well up for a christams bash mate would be good fun Posted by craig buist on 22 November 2008 Good attitude today craig, know you were pissed off but kept it to yourself for the team. Noted!! And thought you did very well when you came on. Posted by chub on 22 November 2008 BA Cup It would have been Aberford away, they will beat Kippax 10-0 Posted by chub on 18 November 2008 Player Stats I have made some slight changes to the player stats. A player will only receive an appearance if they actually enter the field of play, this will help the reserves when deciding if a player is entitled to play. This only affected 4 player. Myself down 6 apps, Tosh down 2 apps, Joe Farthing & Chappy down 1 appearance. Posted by chub on 14 November 2008 AHHH Hey guys i went to the hospital yesterday and the Dr said i have to take a break from football for 3 months! maybe more. Bit of a killer tbh, but best of luck this season to both teams, from seeing the few matches i have played in and seen though nether of you should have any problems! Will be up at all home matches and try get to some away too. Back playing with you soon hopefully, Dom Posted by Dom on 13 November 2008 so sorry to read that your out for three month it will soon pass you will be back stronger and wiser Posted by junior aka oneye on 22 November 2008 Players Profile Hey chubs when are you going to update the players profile and get the new more attractive team members on !! PS a Bramham FC Photo 2008-9 would also be great. Posted by Christian Glennard on 10 November 2008 true!! Posted by junior aka oneye on 22 November 2008 Thank you Thanks Jacko for Saturday i absolutely loved every minute of it. Goals asside the talent at the club is undisputed, many more preformances like Joe Farthing and Joe upfront put in and you will absolutely walk that division. Always available for you guys it was an all round great day just wish i had lamped that tosser who stamped on young Dave because that was a disgrace and we should put a letter in to the league. Thanks again Posted by Jay on 09 November 2008 does anyone think the website, with its popularity growing by the weeks, could do with a facelift ? Posted by on 09 November 2008 ??? only 2 assists? i got 3 last match alone! Posted by Dom on 09 November 2008 I gave you 2 against Eccleshill in the 6-0 win. I was playing that day so didn't write the goal scorer and assists down as I normally would. 2 more this saturday will do!! Saturdays 10-0 win doesn't count as this was a reserve match and the stats are for first team games only. Posted by chub on 10 November 2008 Todays match Fantastic display, special mentions for Nick cravens forward play and a undoubted man of the match performance by Joe Collins, very very impressive. Sorry Jacko, but this lad will get his chance with the first team!! very shortly. Posted by chub on 08 November 2008 Assists Jay, I note the assists because it is a good way of recognising the TEAM players who create the goals as well as those who score them, everybody knows how many goals you score for the team but very few recognise the assists that you also throw in, I also believe it is a good way of making sure that we don't place to much emphasis on who actually puts the ball in the back of the net which can only help prevent players being greedy in front of goal. Posted by Chub on 07 November 2008 Assists Chubby Good stats, but where are my assists...... Posted by Mark Tasker on 04 November 2008 Quite right, your 2 x Assists have been added!!! Posted by chub on 05 November 2008 Chubby who writes these match reports must be you Chubby. Posted by jay on 02 November 2008 What makes you say that!! Posted by chub on 03 November 2008 Progress Played 9 games so far this season and we currently have 12 points, only 6 points off third spot with 2 games in hand. After 9 games last season we only had 4 points, in fact after 11 games last season we only had 4 points. Yesterdays victory moved us up to 8th position. Yesterdays other results: Harlow Hill 6 Kirkby Malzeard 3, Kirk Deighton 1 Westbrook 3, Pately Bridge 5 Eccleshill 1 Posted by chub on 02 November 2008 sat game first of all we will have less of the old. just to say a big thankyou to everyone for sat game u all played fantastic and deserve the 3 points it was a good end to my bday wkend c u all at training. Posted by junior on 02 November 2008 Non Availability Sorry Chubs, Lads I will be unavailable this weekend Sat 01 Nov, as Im away in Belfast for the weekend. I know given last weeks performance its not great but we still have enough depth in the squad to gain the right result regardless. Good luck for Sat I know you will do the buisness. Sorry again all Chris Glennard Posted by christian glennard on 27 October 2008 kirk deighton 1 otley 1 Posted by on 26 October 2008 Guessing that this message came from Kirk D. Please confirm this result as the league have detailed an away win for Otley. Thanks Guys Posted by Rich on 26 October 2008 On the Up We moved up two positions as a result of yesterdays win, and we could move up another three places if we follow it up next week against Sherwood. Sherwood won an unlikely three points yesterday with a good win against Bedale, maybe Sherwood have found a bit of form!! Results:Kirk Deighton 1 Otley Town 2, Kirkby M 2 Burley 2, Sherwood 2 Bedale 0, Spa 2 Thirsk 3, Westbrook 2 Pannall 1 Posted by chub on 26 October 2008 Yesterday Great performance yesterday fellas not a bad man out there, they tried to do the passing game and we broke it up from front to back. Lets not get carried away and keep doing the things we are good at, just a little comment about lateness i was on the M62 at Huddersfield at 1pm 90 minutes before kick off. I cannot do anything about traffic and last week at Tate and Lyle i was in Bramham before all of you, but was asked to stay behind for Mark. People have lives guys i work 70 hours a week every week i am at work now writing this and its Sunday Morning, i work every day except Saturday and even then i work most Saturday Mornings. Well Done Lads Yesterday was Brilliant Posted by Jay on 26 October 2008 yesterday i would like to put some praise on the back four yesterday who played very well. the two centre halfs were excellent joe and tosh were infact the best two players on the park. well done joe and nick who played without reward all afternoon Posted by the plough on 26 October 2008 todays game should be a starting to build on it showed what we can do given they werent a great team but again its another win so we can surely do something now we have got a regular team going out and it shows people are starting to learn how everyone plays which means we are starting to build a new team and reference what chubby said about people being late i reckon people being late should be subbed would give people inspiration to be on time unless they have a genuine excuse (maybe not my place to say but maybe an idea) well done to everyone today lets see if we can keep it going and finish somewhere respectable this year and try and get bramham back to what everyone keeps talking about what it used to be Posted by craig on 25 October 2008 Its easy when a team is winning, its not so easy when your losing, and its times like these that we all need to look to each other for inspiration and support from each other. The sign of a good player and a good team is how you deal with defeat!! Enough said. Posted by christian glennard on 22 October 2008 Lets face it it i hadnt messed up that one on one we were home and hosed. I think the problem is we have a hell of a lot that talk a great game, what they need to do is just concentrate on doing there job and not moaning at centre forwards for not closing down. if you know anyone who will guarantee 30 goals a season half fit and at least 20 assists then get them down and i will stand with Chubby and watch the debacle that is our defence (Danny Excluded) i have played for this club since i was 15 years old and i have not seen it this bad for a long time. It would be nice to keep a clean sheet against 11 men let alone 9. Please print this Chubby i dont actually blame you Posted by Jason on 20 October 2008 I can only remember creating 4 or 5 chances in the whole game, and we played for 60 minutes against 9 men against a very poor team when they had eleven players. What was frustrating on Saturday was not so much the match but the build up to the match. I start preparing for every match on a Tuesday, set a time to meet which should get us to every game an hour before kick off. On Saturday we had no warm up and kicked off 5 minutes late (another fine, no doubt) 4 players turned up after 1.50pm, we were kicking off at 2pm. We also had two new players on Saturday and this was our chance to impress them enough to want to come again, I very much doubt we did that. I don't blame any individuals for saturday, not forwards, defence, goalkeeper or midfield, I blame our shocking performance on our innability to play as a team, and innability to take a bit of individual responsibility, its much easier to blame a different section of the team than look at ourselves. And that isn't aimed at any individual but the whole team. I will have my say on Saturday!!! Posted by chub on 20 October 2008 It is very easy to comment about days gone by when goals came by the bucket load and everything hit towards goal went in. I too like many of the older individuals that play in the team currenly have played in teams which have achieved bigger things. I think competing in the Premier Division week in week out is some achievement, but then thats me. It is the second year in this Division for the club. Again quite and achivement. I can confess to have never scored 30 goals a season, but have played in teams when for me clean sheets were more frequent. But that was then and this is now. We need to try to compete with what we have got now. Many of us are are not 20 or even 30 anymore in many cases, god I wish we were, the brain tells us to do things that the body fails to register. A negative attitude is not the correct approach. We need to regroup and dig in. Posted by Mark Tasker on 21 October 2008 New Manager Chubby, I hope you are joking about looking for a new manager. I think it is about time that some of players stepped up to the plate and repaid some of the faith you put in them. This clearly includes myself. It is silly errors which cost us dearly. This is all over the pitch, not only at the back. Unfortunately when I make a mistake it is so costly and so obvious. Sorry about the second goal on saturday, my hair was in my eyes. Posted by Mark Tasker on 19 October 2008 Saturday night I am unsure of what is happening on Saturday night if anything. Can we have an update please. Posted by Mark Tasker on 01 October 2008 Tosh is going into Castleford on his own!!!! Posted by chub on 01 October 2008 Not on his own. I have a pass out and will make the most of it. Are there any more interested parties for maybe Leeds or Harrogate. It is the super league final. Is it being shown in the Horse or does it clash with X Factor!! Posted by Mark Tasker on 01 October 2008 Todays Game Well done to all of those lads who gave 100% today. We lost the firt half but gave a very creditable display in the second half. It was also nice to see everyone in the pub after the game. Lets hope we are al ready for the big night out next week. Well done today. Posted by jason on 14 September 2008 Hey lads big game today lets take last weeks game and improve on that. Great day for a Game No Excuses !! Posted by christian glennard on 20 September 2008 BREAKING NEWS !!! Second team goalkeeping hero Dave Jacklyn will be out of action for several weeks after suffering cracked ribs following a collision with Lindsay 'the plough' Hulme in saturdays 5-4 win at home to Patley Bridge. Posted by on 01 September 2008 I can whole heartedly say that i never felt a thing. i loved they way in which a hero in goal was hurt in the name of bramham FC. When he regained consciousness i asked if he wanted oxygen, something to help with the pain? no no just a Lambert and a pint of carling! Well done lads on saturday you all did the club proud. 10 men against 12. The referee did his best to let them back in it. Sorry i forgot we have to show respect to them this season. Shame it doesnt go both ways! Posted by The plough on 01 September 2008 Hammering Guys lets just forget the game yesterday it was a lesson. At least we had no bitching and everyone ran un til the ninetieth minute. I think we were beaten by the champions again they were strong in every area except Jimmy Kranky in goal. Lets just put it right on Thursday night Posted by Jason Wright on 31 August 2008 Its funny Jason, but I said exactly the same thing to your dad yesterday. Lost 10-0 and not one crossed word between anybody. It wasn't the eleven who played that let the team down but the 5 or 6 who didn't play. 3 points a must now on Thursday. Posted by Chub on 01 September 2008 chubby have you lost my number as i have not heard from you about any football Posted by rocker on 03 September 2008 Waiting for you to let me know you are available for Saturdays, when cricket has finished. Well done to all those who were involved and I hope to be involved next year, if required. Posted by Mark Tasker on 26 August 2008 Festival Had a great 4 days. Hard work but enjoyed every single minute. Can't do a weekend like that on your own, and it can be a total ball-ache if you don't enjoy the company you are with. We have all had our grumpy moments but wouldn't do it next year without Taff, Debs, Emma, Mick Sandy, and a special mention for Matty Howgate who was there for every minute of every day (unlike some others) top lad who knew what he had to do and just got on with it. Lesser mentions for Brian, Barry and then Graham who did there bit for team moral and of course the "mythical" Wendy, who gave me something to look forward to. Look forward to next year, counting the days already. And to all those who were concerned, no she didn't change the locks but maybe thats only because she would have expected me to pay for it!!!!! But the temperature is god damb frosty. Posted by Chub on 25 August 2008 Who are Brian, Barry & Graham? Posted by on 25 August 2008 Come next year and you might find out!!! Just to update on my position i am currently trying to negotiate with work if i can have Saturdays off but i may be a late edition to the team as i am not coming back unfit. I have not kicked a ball in eight months but suprisingly i feel okay apart from my near death car crash last week (mi dad will fill you in) anyway there it is just dont want to be the forgotten man.I will at least play five or six games so i get the top goalscorer trophy again. ha ha Posted by Jay on 20 July 2008 Freely Lane I had two people asking why I had sanctioned a match on our pitch last Sunday!! My involvement was to find the venue and report back the options. It was a committee decision to book it and finalise the venue. From me though, I would like to thank Richard for the extra work involved in setting up the venue. Maybe we will book early enough next year and make the £20 a compulsary purchase and take a few £'s each week from players. It was a true privilage to lead you as captain and i was proud of every single one of you. i would like to thank jacko and ted who make it all possible. Posted by The plough on 07 May 2008 Would just like to re-iterate what Ted said, everyone of you were outstanding on Monday, and did the club proud. What makes it even better was the fact that it was against Bardsey.Lets just hope that the club keep hold of these players & managers so that we can make days like Monday an annual event, for next season and many seasons to come. The club is going in the right direction, but we just need to keep going in that direction now. Any news on when or where we are going to hold presentation night & when the AGM will be? Posted by Smitty on 07 May 2008 There have been times this year when I have thought the club wasn't going in the right direction, but I think we have got things back on the rails and there's a positive feel around the place. Not yet sorted out AGM/Presentation evening, but we might go for a joint event with the AGM early evening followed by presentations etc. Hope to sort this in next couple of weeks Posted by Rich on 07 May 2008 CUP WIN Absolutely brilliant against Bardsey lads, every single one of you thoroughly deserved your winners medal. For the last half hr we had three players carrying serious injuries and all three of you kept going and it was only when Colin had gone past the cant run and reached the cant walk stage that he came off.Like true winners every time we asked for a little bit more you dug deep and found some energy from somewhere and kept going.Hunger, attitude, desire, resilience we saw bucket loads of it on monday and you made a lot of people proud to be a part of Bramham FC. Posted by Ted on 06 May 2008 CUP FINAL DEFEAT Heads up lads sometimes it just isnt meant to be , and the Catterick game was one of those times. Our goal has always been promotion and unless Rooney, Ronaldo and of course Stewart downing (stop laughing)turn up for the opposition this goal will be achieved and weve still another final to go so we may pick up a trophy yet. Posted by Ted on 03 May 2008 Cup Semi-final Ahead of our cup semi-final meeting on Thursday, Spa Athletic became only the second team to take points from Thirsk on Saturday. They drew 2-2 in their last game before the cup match. We may aswell be playing on the stray. Posted by on 28 April 2008 Apparently the venue for the game couldnt be changed as the police require 2 weeks notice so they can prepare for any crowd trouble Posted by Ted on 29 April 2008 4-2??,thought it was 7-2 result from thurs night?? Posted by Rich on 26 April 2008 Ha!! Wondered who'd spot that!! Posted by Rich on 27 April 2008 Thirsk Match Thirsk call match off, no players!!! Three points awarded to thirsk then? Posted by chub on 26 April 2008 No, I don't think thats exactly how it works and I reckon there is a good chance that Bramham will get the points!!!! Posted by Rich on 27 April 2008 I was being sarcastic, refering to the Beckwithshaw match from 2 seasons ago!! Yes it still hurts. Posted by chub on 27 April 2008 I knew exactly where you were coming from, but thought a diplomatic reply was appropriate Posted by Rich on 27 April 2008 You never know with this league they might award the points to Wetherby Athletic instead Posted by Ted on 27 April 2008 Did diplomacy get us our 3 points back?? No, they were used to promote Beckwithshaw!! Posted by chub on 28 April 2008 Bedale Game Watched the 1sts against Bedale last night and was very impressed with what i saw, they look like a decent outfit once again. Posted by Ted on 23 April 2008 Just want to say cheers to Ted for putting that comment on about the 1st team performance on Tuesday night.Would just like to mention that I think Ted & Jacko are doing an excellent job for the reserves having got them to 2 cup finals.Keep up the good work you two and lets hope for a cup double and promotion and push on even more for next season. Posted by Smitty on 24 April 2008 Agree with what Smitty has said , yet again Ted & Jacko have done a great job .During the season they lost a few players to the first team , on various occasions , but keep coming up trumps .A great deal of credit also going to the players.Lets hope these players , that have played regularly , enjoy playing in the cup finals . We showed real strength of character to see it out and get a well deserved winner.Enjoy the final Posted by Ted on 13 April 2008 Season run-in Just looked on the fixtures page & I am just wondering why we , as a SATURDAY team , have no fixtures for the 19th , 26th April & 3rd of May?? We struggled to raise a side at Kirk Deighton tonight , no offence Chub ,we shouldn't have to rely on you!!& yet the league has given us a semi-final on a THURSDAY night , plus they have given our reserves a fixture that night...Are we the only team they expect to put 2 teams out on a weekday??Much less a semi-final.. Posted by Tosh on 08 April 2008 Promotion Hats off to Wetherby Last night, its not about how many chances you create its how many you put away that counts. The promotion race will now go down to the wire but is still in our hands. see you on the 17th. Posted by ted on 04 April 2008 At the committee meeting last night the content of recent comments on the guestbook was discussed. It was felt that on occassions some of the commentary was inappropriate and for tthat reason editorial responsiblity will rest solely in the hands of the club secretary. Thanks to all those who have acted in an editorial capacity over the course of recent months. your assistance has been a great help. Posted by Rich on 03 April 2008 regarding this issue i don't agree with it.colin was a good person to have on the website publishing side of things.he has the ability to update during the day and also adds alot of information about the teams including the second team match reports.if colin is removed from this the second team have no representative on the site. Posted by on 08 April 2008 I wouldnt normally publish anonymous comments but from a personal perspective I think that 99% of the content that appears on this website is absolutely fine and Colin has been a great help with keeping the site updated and as mentioned giving a 2nd team view. At the commitee meeting some strong opinions were expressed and as a result it was felt that just occassionally some commentary caused felings to run high. ( Not I hasten to add anything that could be attributed to Colins editing) I hope the committee can reverse that decision very soon. Posted by Rich on 08 April 2008 The Missing Alker ! ! ! Remember Jason getting a couple and Carrier getting one from the half way line. Who got injured warming up, and couldn't take part? And as you weren't involved in either game how the hell do you know this stuff?? Posted by chub on 01 April 2008 Tate & Lyle game scorers are: Joe Farthing definitely got 1 and Im almost certain he got 2, Wooky definitely got 1 and I think Jason got the rest. Posted by Elliott on 01 April 2008 PS - It was Danny Ewen that gayed it up in the warm-up and didn't play! Posted by Elliott on 01 April 2008 The statto tag is slipping because I was in Birmingham that day!! Linny texted me the team & I very rarely delete text messages!!!!! Posted by Tosh on 01 April 2008 Jason did get a few in this game, but I seem to remember he was playing as a guest(if you know what I mean)so dont be counting his goals at the end of the year. Posted by Smitty on 03 April 2008 last game of season rich, when is that last game of the season. i know that the goal posts or something got stolen last time. but when is it re-arranged for? Posted by sunday teamer on 31 March 2008 The match was in fact rescheduled for yesterday 30th March, but postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. It is detailed on the sunday fixture list but I am now awaiting a revised date Posted by Rich on 31 March 2008 Festival Rich I will do the football all weekend again like last year as long as we do not get any of the freeloaders who took advantage of us last year. Not naming any names but people came to do the football and sat on their arse all weekend or didn't even stay and help. Adam Posted by adam on 31 March 2008 Youre bang on right Adam and that isn't going to happen this year. Thanks for your help, really appreciated and if you know someone who will help you organise it let me know. I could do with a small team that knows what its doing as I'll have plenty on with the traffic stuff for at least 3 days Posted by Rich on 31 March 2008 Goals Is the top goalscorer at the end of the season just going to be based upon league goals as we have ha a good run in the cups and thats where most of my goals are. If this isn't the case then could you please amend the table so that it shows all goals scored. Posted by Tasker on 31 March 2008 Adam the league goals are just from the soccer weekend list they don't store/list the cup goals. You will have to ask Rich, anyway now you are back playing you should finish top in league & overall goals scored Posted by col on 31 March 2008 I know that i should finish top but things don't always go to plan and i have counted up at least another 9 goals in cup games and if you even counted those 7 that i got in that friendly there would be even more. I would just like it confirming what the top goalscorer is based upon as i missed out by a couple last year. Posted by adam on 31 March 2008 Chubby, Reckon your the stats man on this stuff, how did we play it last year??? Posted by Rich on 31 March 2008 the top goalscorer should be the person who scores the most goals in competitive games which includes both league and cup goals. Posted by col on 01 April 2008 Top Half Finish They said I was mad, but a top half finish in our first season in the premier division is now a definate possibility!! Couldn't help but notice Thirsk reserves beat Addingham in division one!! Knowing that thirsk first team game was off I would have been out with the hosepipe if I was Addingham. No rules broken there then!!! Posted by chub on 24 March 2008 Westbrook also got beat 4-0 by Thirsks 3rd team in the Spa Cup Semi which was the shock result of the day Posted by Ted on 24 March 2008 Yep no rules broken there. We had a full strength team for once.1 first teamer played, but if you haven't played 16 games for the frst team then thats allowed. The 'A' Team result was a shock!! Westbrook rested 6 players. There manager must be a Liverpool Fan. Posted by thirsky on 30 March 2008 come on thirsky, pull the other one!!!.You have played Westbrook four times this year, two league & two cup.Once in the cup both 1st + res teams didn't have a game & once in the cup no 1st team game, you won both games. The two league games you got stuffed 4-0 + 6-1 when the other teams had games. Posted by col on 31 March 2008 "Westbrook rested 6 players" Does that mean only 5 played, thats the only way that result would have occured. The condition were awful but we never gave in and kept battling which is a good sign, character , desire, and the fact that we stick together and dont know when we are beat shows we have a good team spirit. It would be nice if we can keep that spirit going for an extra hour and get a few more bodies in the pub after the game , ther was only Me Jacko Col and jacko jnr who went back to Hampsthwaites pub after the game. I know some of you run your own busineses so spare time is at a premium so please dont take it as criticism but if we can get together for a beer after the game that would be great. Its also this day in 1966 that the World Cup was stolen in London, later to be found by a dog called pickles. Although Hampswhaite and Catterick will need to win all their remaining games for you to require that many. Less than 55 required if you take any points off Wetherby and Hampswhaite in either of the games you play against them. Posted by Elliott on 18 March 2008 Premier Survival As it stands on March 18th: Bramhope cannot overtake us but are not yet relegated. If they lose at Pannal on Saturday, they will be down. They can still stay up if they draw but must win their last game and hope Kirkby fail to pick up a point in their remaining 9 games. Pannal can only overtake us if they win all their remaining 4 games and we fail to take 2 points from our remaining 5 games. If they win all 4 games and we only pick up 1 point they will still have to turn round a goal difference deficit of 29 goals. Kirkby can overtake us but must at least win 3 and draw 1 of their 9 remaining games. We can technically finish 3rd if results go our way! Not very likely but the reality is 1 win or 2 draws is enough to mathmatically guarantee survival if 2 teams go down. 1 draw should also be enough due to a superior goal difference but does not guarantee survival. Ideally, Pannal and Bramhope will draw on Saturday and we will be mathmatically safe from a 1 or 2 team relegation. How about that for statto! Tosh has an apprentice! Good to see Mick out and about and Jason making the long trip from Cheshire to support the club Posted by Rich on 16 March 2008 Good night really enjoyed it as did the family. I am sure it is not just our club but it is allways the same people who attend and therefore support the club financially. Richard has asked for volunteers for the festival weekend. Why he has asked I am not quite sure because he already knows who will help and who will just make excuses. Posted by chub on 17 March 2008 The reason i wasnt at the race night was because it was my mrs 40th so we went out with the family, the reason i wont be doing the festival is because i will be in Greece on a family holiday. Please note Chub they are reasons not excuses. The work and effort that a certain few do is appreciated and not taken for granted but please dont tie us all with the same brush, some of us dont get too involved because we like to spend time with our families. We arent all in the position where we can take time off through the week like you have done i'm sure a lot of the lads would love to be able to do thet but unfortunately they cant. Posted by Ted on 17 March 2008 Its more than possible to get your families involved with football events, as did myself, Richard, Mick, Jason, Mark & Adam Tasker, Linny & Ryan on Saturday night. As for the Festival weekend, theres a good reason why people who help out return year after year. Its because its got to be the most amazing experience you can get for free. The access that we get is unbelievable. I have never been to a festival before last year but will certainly be there again this year. With my family as per last year! Posted by chub on 18 March 2008 Sorry I wasn't at the race night but I am currently concentrating on supporting myself financially, not the club. Although I think I have supported the club financially this past season by managing to get a Sunday team out most weeks, therefore saving the club a fortune in fines! Also on the subject of supporting the club, I spent all day Saturday at the ground marking the pitch out (even though I wasn't playing), repairing the nets, going for lime.... In those days the Burton cup used to be much harder to win because teams knocked out of the Barkston Ash cup in the first two rounds were also entered into the Burton Cup. Thats where the Uefa cup got its idea from. Tosh, who did we play in that final and how many rounds did we play to get into the final?? Is my memory deceiving me or did I play centre half that day? Remember "April" Just to explain Tosh, a girlfriend is a member of the female sex who is normally wheeled out on special occasions to prove you're not gay! They usually supply fringe benefits,(cooking, cleaning, ironing etc, etc) if not trained properly they can tend to be a bit naggy. Posted by chub on 12 March 2008 Tosh knows all about girlfriends that Ann from last year still cant walk properly Posted by Ted on 13 March 2008 Ted,I think I would rather people thought I was Gay. The goalpost on the Stray belonging to Hampsthwaite United were stolen overnight! This is a dasterdly deed, and speculation is mounting that there may have been a dawn raid on the Stray to save the leaky Bramham defence from further punishment following the walloping they received at Squirrel the previous week. Rumour has it that Tosh Maltby was due to keep goal again in todays fixture! An alternative suggestion indicates a well known official has been acting suspicioulsy and visted several local venues over the weekend. What could HIS motives be? Who dun it!! Can one of them do us a little report on what happened?? Posted by Rich on 09 March 2008 League website The reason it hasnt been updated is because people lose track of results and points can be lost or allocated elsewhere. Did we not have a Harrogate team fail to turn up once but they were awarded the points and managed to get promoted Posted by TEd on 07 March 2008 Is that the same website that says tomorrows game against Otley is postponed??? Posted by Tosh on 08 March 2008 Guys, Fully understand your frustrations with this. I know Keith who updates the website and generally it has been much better this year than last. Like a lot of things I guess. Just a few people having to shift a lot of work and not enough volunteers coming forward to help. Posted by Rich on 08 March 2008 If keith didn't want to do the website or have to many work commitments then he shouldn't have volunteered to do it!!! It just goes to show how out of touch with the youth that play the game the Harrogate league really are. This season being our first year back has been a difficult one as I unexpectedly found myself taking on the role of Team Manager, alongside Ronnie and at times turning a side out every Sunday has been a real challenge. At this point I want to say thank you to the fantastic support everyone has given to me and Ronnie. We might not have had a great season on the field but the team spirit has been good even if we have at times been a little short on numbers. We will soon need to make a decision as to next season and I would appreciate your thoughts on the website Posted by Rich on 24 February 2008 I have not really been involved with the Sunday team so i dont know whether that makes be better qualified or not entitled to an opinion at all but just for the recoed here are my thoughts on the matter. I think that unless somebody who pretty much has nothing to do with the saturday set up comes in with assurances that they will definitely bring players with them the sunday set up should seriously consider folding. This is by no means meant to be a slur on anybody who has played for or helped run the sunday side so if i have offended anybody then i apologise as that is not my intention it is simply an opinion based on the fact that the people who are the driving force behind the saturday set up do not have the time to give 100% to the sunday set up as this in my opinion is virtually impossible to do. If any of you would walk away after someone had thrown a punch (whether its a good punch or whether it hurts is immaterial) then feel free to have a go.Old enough to know better or whether i was right or wrong is a judgement that cant be made on pub gossip or from the view you would have from Burley. Posted by on 16 February 2008 Ted, you have got to realise when somebody is sticking up for you!! As Tosh is. Nobody at Burley, today, is making any comment, other than supportive comments!! Posted by chub(?) THATS THE NAME SUPPLIED! on 16 February 2008 Tongue in cheek comment about Burley as i had a text from Tosh before he put his post on the web site. Posted by Ted on 16 February 2008 how did keeper punch 1st when we had ball in is hands laid on floor and u had hold of his shirt i was not the only 1 to see this.as 4 been commited i play 4 bramham 20 yaers or more and wanted 2 win ever game. Posted by g.shooter on 17 February 2008 The keeper had one hand on the ball i put my foot in to get it away from him he then let go of the ball threw a punch up in the direction of my bollocks THEN I GRABBED HOLD OF HIM . I know this is correct because i was there and not 40 yards away and as for everybody seeing the same thing , they all saw the same as me because they were all asking the Ref what she was going to give the keeper as he through the 1st punch , again i know this to be fact because i was there Posted by Ted on 17 February 2008 Just for the record not once have i questioned anybody elses hunger and desire to win games when wearing a Bramham shirt. All ive done is to have my say on the matter Posted by Ted on 17 February 2008 LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE. That should put an end to this slagging off of a decent bloke trying to do his best. Posted by The Holy Man on 17 February 2008 Bowdie Here we go with my thoughts on this situation....Firstly , Col we are one CLUB , with three teams.....With the situation with Bowdie , I read at one point , the 2nd team management were told not to play Bowdie..Was this brought by the commitee??? Was it because he owed money? Go back to last year & if player "R" ( No names!!) , had played for the first team , & jacko & ted had said , he can't play...What would Mick have said...I will give you a clue , 2 words... Why should the first team management tell the 2nd's who they can & can't pick?? Just because Bowdie would not play for the firsts.....Let's just hope we as a club learn from this....We have been thrown out of 2 first team cups & being deducted 3 points for the 2nd's....Come on...Play it by the rules...I for one don't want to play my heart out to be penalised Posted by Tosh on 15 February 2008 Tosh - The situation obviously provokes strong feelings all round, and everybody has a different opinion. There were some comments posted on this subject earlier in the week, which I deleted because somebody was using my name to make there feelings known when in fact I hadn't posted anything, so I deleted them. Its allways difficult to pass comment on players that you actually get on with as I do with Bowdy. Bowdy has played for the club, on and off, for 3 seasons, and has mounted up quite a serious amount of outstanding debt. We will obviously receive a club fine and a player fine, from County FA, for Bowdy playing whilst suspended, even though we didn't know that he was suspended. To me this point is irrelevant because of what happened the following week!!!. If we receive the same fines that Jason got then Bowdy's debt will be approaching £300. (Jason has now all but cleared his debt, much credit to him) I must add that the Bowdy situation was discussed at this weeks committee meeting but there was no second team management in attendance to put there opinion forward. Here's where I get political. As far as what the first team do regarding playing players who owe the club money, for example Rocker, my opinion is as follows. Last August Bramham football club earned £6500 from work carried out at the festival. Certain people gave up much of there time which ran to 5, 6 & even seven days. Prior to the festival Mick, myself & Richard attended several meetings and spent many hours preparing for the events we were involved with. All three of us were involved nearly every day with strong support from certain other individuals, Mark & Adam Tasker, Debbie Atkinson, Emma Sanderson & others. What was sadly lacking was input from all players and second team management. My point being that if Mick or myself want to play a player who owes the club money then at least we have earned the right to do so. If the reserves want to do the same then they must earn the right. (They will have another opportunity this year!!!) Bowdy must now clear his debts before he plays again!! Posted by chub on 16 February 2008 The reason there was no 2nd team management at the meeting was because Jacko was on nights and i got held up at work and informed Richard of this as soon as it became apparent. The month before myself and Jacko turned up for the monthly meeting and we were the only two in attendance obviously the meeting is only there for the 1st team otherwise myself and Jacko would have been informed.I only went onto the commitee because i was told that managers automatically went on it and would much prefer the committee to have more people on it who were not attached to either team therefore giving us much more of a club orientated view when it comes to descision makig. Posted by Ted on 16 February 2008 Just to clarify things at no point did anybody tell me and Jacko not to play Bowdy, in fact on the very day of the Ripon game Mick had a word with Jacko and i about Bowdy just to say we needed to get money off him to start to clear his debt. If Bowdy is not to play then the club can ensure that by sending a letter to the league , was this done NO does that make him available for selection YES. As for the ridiculous comment about how people who put in time at the festival have a greater right to select a player who owes money than somebody who hasnt put in time at the festival then that suggests that Debbie and Emma have the right to make a descision regarding Bowdy but Jacko and i dont , Strangely enough Debbie and Emma werent elected to manage the 2nd team Jacko and i were therefore We were given the right to select any available player at any given time by the committee that elected us. At risk of being accused of blowing our own trumpets , when you look at the table we are not doing a bad job either and we are managing to select a team as on saturday with a massive contingent of local lads who are proud to put on the White and black shirt of Bramham Posted by Ted on 17 February 2008 Goals I'll start the subject off then , ..Undoubtedly , the goal against Hampsthwaits was the best...The keeper in that game stood NO chance....Although having seen said keeper outfield , his movement is very poor in any situation!!!!! Not for the first time, I was unable to get hold of the Addingham secretary on the day of the match and team manager says was not aware of any suggestion of switching the game to Bramham, at the time he spoke to his players to tell them the game was off.Rob Davison Referees secretary couldn't get hold of Addingham secretary either on match day and he asked me if the game was off! Seems to be a bit of an ongoing issue at Addingham. Posted by on 20 January 2008 Have checked pitches out ahead of this weekends double header, and at this stage both matches are very very doubtful. Posted by Chub on 18 January 2008 Chub , can I just say what a disgraceful decision it was to call the games off yesterday...Me & another member of the team ended up at Elland Road to watch what can only be descriped as utter rubbish , & we both hold you entirely responsible!! :-) ;-) Posted by Tosh on 20 January 2008 That will be a relief to Dave "Harry" Bassett. Same old Bramham Posted by Mick on 16 November 2007 IF Plewsey was paid last week , then not only is it unfair on the others that played last week , but what about players of all three teams that have paid a signing on fee. Also adding those that participated in various fund raising events in the pre-season for no financial reward. If the guy wants to play for Bramham , fair enough , play him but don't pay him. As I said at the start that is IF he got paid Posted by Tosh on 16 November 2007 Tosh, your point is well made. I spend many hours every week working on club issues entirely through my own choice, and from all the hours you have put in over the years, you know only too well the work involved in running a club. Some players and several officials devoted many hours at the Leeds Festival, to generate much needed funds for the club.I personally funded the main phase of the electrical and plumbing work until the Leeds Festival monies became available, to ensure the club could take its place in the premier league.I dont therefore subscribe to the idea of paying out club money to players and none of the clubs funds have ever been used to pay any player, whilst I have been treasurer. Whilst on the point of money there are a number of players who owe the club money for fines that the club have paid and for annual subs which are overdue. It would be appreciated if they could settle as soon as possible, as we remain under pressure to provide toilet facilities and the club would like to press on with its plans for floodlighting. As they say every little helps! The 2ndX1 have had agreat start to the season, the 1st X1 are starting to show that they are prepared to battle for their place in the premier league, we have lights and power and have made great strides. Lets all pull together for with the prospect of a new clubhouse and floodlighing no longer just a pipedream, this club is very much moving forward. As some will know I am on the Harrogate and District League Management Committee and the majority of those on that committee are right behind us,and delighted at the progress made. Posted by Rich on 16 November 2007 No I haven't been paid! Nor would I want paying if everybody else wasn't getting paid. Once we start going down that route, it causes all sorts of arguments. "Why's he getting paid & Im not?" "Why does he get paid more than me?" Its not worth it. At the moment we are still a village team and shouldn't even be considering paying players. It should be enough to us to be representing a Harrogate Premier League team and a reserve team that is top of their division and Spa Cup holders. I don't know whether Plewsy got paid or not but if he did, after the way he played, he owes us it back, with interest! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask! Only joking Plews. Come on lads, pull together. Lets get the 1st team out of the sh*t and the reserves promoted to a division that is worthy of their presence. BRAMHAM FC!!!!!! I've set up the tab today so just wants some input now Posted by Rich on 06 October 2007 the oversea revelution with the recent input of overseas players into bramham i just hope we don't slowly turn into the new arsenal.we don't want our proud traditions of producing top quality british players to be wiped away. Posted by local fan on 03 October 2007 You mean Chelsea and Liverpool too ? Posted by Vim Fuego on 19 October 2007 Debt Consolidation ?!? Dear Bramham FC, We here at Debtbuster Loans were wondering if you could put us in touch with a Mr. J.Carrier who we believe you have registered as a player. We recently looked at your player stats page and from what you have on there, we believe that we may be in a position to help Mr.Carrier consolidate his debts into one manageble monthly payment. Much less than he's paying now. Thank you Posted by Elliott on 01 October 2007 Dear Debtbuster loans, You will note that I have had to edit part of your message as it contains statements which may be open to a charge of libel. If you are able to take over the outstanding debts of any of our players, then we can do business. Not quite sure what you would take as security for your loans though! Posted by Rich on 01 October 2007 Dear Bramham FC, After further investigation into Mr. Carrier's debts, we wish to withdraw our offer to help him as we don't believe we can lower his payments below the £17 he pays every 6 months and in light of other footballing matters brought to out attention, we don't believe this debt has a chance of ever being cleared. Many thanks Posted by Elliott on 03 October 2007 Whilst i can see the funny side of Chris's comments i think we ought to take a look at the ramifications of the situation we as a club find ourself in. We at Bramham are collecting far too many Yellow and even Red cards and this abhorrent situation must cease to exist. To my horror i found out that on saturday even the great Mick Wright got got sucked into the cesspit we all know as the referees note book. I am sure nobody regrets this more than Mick himself but as managers we have to show the way forward and that is to act with class and dignity at all times on and off the pitch. Lets put an end to this anarchy we call indiscipline because after all we are only lining the pockets off the WRCFA. On a lighter note i would like to invite you all to a party on saturday to celebrate my seeing of the light. Will you please join me for cocktails at 19.00 in the Ted O'Donoghue Suite, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford. Posted by Ted on 09 October 2007 Saturday Well Done to the lads on saturday I thought that we had an excellent result considering the makeshift side we took up the A1. I would like to thank Ted who carried me throughout the game and im sure that i will return the favour someday. A rare site also spotted, the milky white legs of a certain Dave "Jacko" well done and keep it up Posted by The Plough on 01 October 2007 Player Stats Any Chance of the player stats being updated as i for one have paid some money off my fine but this is not reflected on the web site. Posted by Ted on 28 September 2007 Yes Ted, as you have probably seen Chubby has not been on the website a great deal in recent weeks and I am trying to keep the news and fixtures rolling along, and will get around to the other stuff soon Posted by Rich on 29 September 2007 Ted, I have been extremely busy over the last 5 or 6 weeks, should be back up to last seasons input levels by the end of this week!! Posted by chub on 01 October 2007 Occassionally we receive anonymous comments for this guestbook. Please note that the club has a policy of not publishing comment where the source is not known. In answered to " confused", so am I as everyone is well aware that our team is not currently at the strength of recent seasons and our ambitions are limited to achieving as many points as possible, so if you wouldn't mind resting a few players when you next play us that would be much appreciated! Posted by Rich on 25 September 2007 Signing On Fee Chubby I have paid my Signing on Fee, I paid it before the game at home to Thackley. Can you please check your records,as Ive seen that you have updated the Player Stats but my signing on fee hasn't been marked off. Ted have you got a twin brother as i have seen him today with a massive cowboy hat and two big titted birds on each arm. Jacko they only have malboro here will these do Posted by the plough on 08 September 2007 No. It was me Cowboy Yee Hah Posted by Ted on 09 September 2007 I would have thought marlboro would be fine for jacko bearing in mind the fact that he would smoke a sweaty sock if the price was right. Can someone send me a report on the 2nd team game at Otley please.Surely someone can describe that Maltby goal!!! Posted by Rich on 02 September 2007 Sorry mate i'd love to help but i was too busy catching my breath, ask jacko he didnt move for 90 minutes as a result of a visit to the snip clinic. Posted by Ted on 03 September 2007 Bramham Res played their 1st league match of the season at otley and came away with a 3-0 win.The team was a mixture of youth & experience, only eleven players were available so the oldies ted + col were going to have to play 90mins!The scoring was opened half way through the 1st half when craven hit a low drive into the bottom corner,no more chances were converted and otley only had one chance the whole half when their striker outpaced tosh but dragged his shot onto the post. The start of the 2nd half was very similar to the 1st,plenty of attacks but no real efforts on goal.On the hour mark a free kick was awarded just inside the otley half, what happened next will go down in bramham folklore!Col maltby took the free kick straight away, spotting the keeper a touch off his line;the ball sailing over the keeper & into the roof of the net.Did he mean it?only he knows but with the score now 2-0 the team relaxed & played some great attacking football, climaxing in a third goal for Simon Wright.A good start to the season well done to all who played Posted by OTLEY SCOUT on 03 September 2007 yes i did mean it,still i was as shocked as everyone else when it went in Posted by col on 06 September 2007 Team I saw in the Yorkshire Post a fixture last Saturday for Bramham and Clifford football team. Who is this team and does it have anything to do with Bramham FC ? Posted by Vim Fuego on 28 August 2007 I don't have any knowledge of it and suspect it is a misprint! Posted by Rich on 28 August 2007 Now then lads. whats gone wrong?? i've noticed that you've lost your first two games. Its a shame, still plenty of time to go I suppose. Let us first div boys show the premiership how to play. ha. jus to let you know as well, we beat Kirkby Malzeard 7-0 last night. Good luck this weekend lads. Posted by Bedale Town FC on 24 August 2007 Well we simply turned in a shocking performance against Otley and then came up against a decent Kirk Deighton side. That said we could have won both games but sometimes you need a bit of luck when things are'nt going your way Great start for you guys, well done!! Posted by Rich on 24 August 2007 Games i was just wondering if the reserves have any more pre season games. With the season still a few weeks away im sure that a team could be found for us to take to bits. I Want to hit the ground running this year and dont want the start we had last year as i felt this held us back all season and we would have been top last year if not for the terrible start. I am currently working with the under 21s in Holland but i would think i will be unemployed after the weekend and would like to come to a clud where i would be appreciated. I can give excellent references from Bobby Robson, Graham Taylor and Glen Hoddle which i think you will agree were all fantastic england managers. I just need a chance to prove that i am not a nonce and can manage at some level. I also can give penalty taking practice to anyone who needs it, i hear that a lad called rocker took one this year that didnt reach the goal. I have a lot in common with Mick Wright the first team manager as we both jump up and down the touchline like lunatics screaming bollocks. I am reachable on Monday when we will definately be at Manchester Airport at some point Mr Pearce Posted by Stuart Pearce on 15 June 2007 CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations on your promotion to the Premier League and all the best for the coming season from all at Otley Rovers If either team fancies a preseason friendly let me know Posted by Malcolm Dobinson on 14 June 2007 Thank you Malcolm your comments are much appreciated. We enjoyed a couple of smashing games with you last season, and I went to Bedale to see your lads turn in a great display which helped tip the title our way.Everyone at Bramham has nothing but praise for the young team you are putting together, there a real credit, and I will speak with the team mangers and see if we can fix something up, meanwhile best wishes for the coming season Posted by Rich Woodcock on 15 June 2007 Presentation night I Would like to thank everyone involved on saturday evening it was a great night. I would like to thank both ted and jacko for their nomination and i was humbled that i should receive such an award. Well done to all the people who won an award and everyone who didnt win an award because without you there would be no awards to win. good luck for the coming season i wish you all the best. See you on Saturday Posted by Jason on 05 June 2007 Drew, Booker, Morrall and Develly all wish to go to the golf day event! Posted by Booker on 01 June 2007 Dave Easby Can we keep our eye on Dave Easby for a couple of days. He thinks that following the birth of Baby "Joseph" he has now dropped a further step down the ladder for a starting place in the reserves. Somebody spotted Dave buying a length of rope whilst wearing his scouts uniform clutching a book on knotts. Posted by on 28 May 2007 The Reserves In response to our faithful leader ted (Tevez, the white Cafu). I Would like to say it has been a great honour to captain you this season. What a great side we turned out be after a S**T start. The faith that jacko and ted showed in you was repaid after some of the performances i saw this season. Just as an instance it was great to see that the disappointment of a 3-3 draw at home hurt as much as if we had lost a final. This is how far we came in the space of the season.I Know that you will carry on next season as you left off and good luck to you all. Once again well done to the firsts who regained the title. If there is any justice you will be put in the league where you belong. Well done Posted by The plough on 28 May 2007 We recently had a meeting with The Harrogate FA, which went very well, and we are optimistic that we will be in the top division next season. Posted by chub on 28 May 2007 what league did u guys get put in? ammas got given division 1 kinda muffed we didnt get premier but oh well, theres always next season Posted by russ8 on 24 June 2007 Congratulations It's taken me a while to look here but well done on coming top of the table this season. You played excellent football at times and it was great to watch. Here's to next season ! Presentation Night I hope the 2nd team are turning up in there droves for the presentation night its been a hard season but rewarding and it would be nice for Jacko if he could buy you all a drink. As for those who complain that the 2nd team may sometimes get slightly overlooked (this is a minority that may not even feel this way now) this is a good opportunity for you to represent yourselves and if you cant be bothered then why should anybody else bang the 2nd team drum for you.So get your suit and your dancing shoes on and get to the Jarvis. Develly you should bring a bib because i think there is soup and gravy on the menu. Posted by Ted O'Donoghue on 25 May 2007 Can anybody remember who won which trophies last season? Posted by Ted O'Donoghue on 16 May 2007 Ted, It was great to see the turn out last night more than double the previous years AGM. The future of this club will only be restricted by our own belief. We really are on the edge of a new era as the wind of change blows through this club. There was a key mesage for me last night, we are as one, a totally united club and everyone has played a part in bringing that about. Thank You! Posted by Rich on 16 May 2007 Good look next year lads definetly deserved the title this year. Go and whip the big boys next yr! Posted by Caz - Otley Rovers on 15 May 2007 Caz, your comments are appreciated. Theres a little red tape to cut through before promotion. If you fancy a change of scene next season, give us a call, have watched you a bit this season, thought you were the best player on pitch in your recent 0-0 draw away to Bedale!! Posted by chub on 15 May 2007 well done boys for winning the league, its been a tough long season but very enjoyable. i think we were done by the back log of games we had ending the season having to play 8 games in 2 weeks was always going to be a big ask but we gave it our best & can't complain at runners up in our 1st season in division 1. good luck boys have a sambuca on me. Posted by alex, the albert on 14 May 2007 Thanks Alex, your comments are appreciated. Posted by chub on 15 May 2007 Champions Congratulations to everyone connected to the club for a very well deserved championship. It proved that when the chips are down and real character is required the Bramham spirit always comes through. I think this title is the best one yet as we really didnt look like we were gonna win it after 10 games of season. Too many to mention individually but the fantastic four Lenny,Rich,Chub and mi Dad must get credit for living eating and breathing football in our village. Thanks Lads i really wasnt bothered about playing footie this season and not playing in first six games proves this but mi dad kept pecking at mi head to come back and i cant believe i stayed relatively injury free. Thanks to you all for putting up with me. Posted by Booker on 14 May 2007 simpley the best well done lads so proud 2 now u & been part of bramham 4 so long best of luck 4 next season gary/lynn. Posted by gaz shooter on 13 May 2007 Champions!!! Well done to one and all on winning the division for the third sucessive season. After a none to clever start to the season, when many were questioning whether we had the team to win the title again, Myself Mick & Richard never lost faith. We knew it would be hard but we always had belief that we were still the team to beat. Although we didn't know it at the time it took 18 wins from our final 22 games to finally see off Albert & Bedale. As you will all be aware there are many changes soon to be happening at our club which will take many many unseen hours of work from the committee, Yesterdays title win will make the work worthwhile and spur us on to achieve our goal. Well done!! Posted by Chub on 13 May 2007 Title Obviously everyone at Bramham is delighted to have won the 1st Division title for what we believe to be an unprecedented second year, but we feel that three excellent teams playing different styles of football have contributed richly to the Harrogate and District League. What a fantastic first season Albert have had running two of the leagues best teams right to the wire, they should be so proud of what they have achieved! We have established a great relationship with our coleagues at Bedale and are sorry that on this occassion they will finsih in 3rd place. What an excellent club they are. Thank you for your superb hospitality, on a day when things didn't go your way. Your club, Your players and your supporters are a credit to your town and a credit to the Harrogate League. What a fantastic Premier League we could have with all 3 teams being promoted Posted by rich on 12 May 2007 Congratulations Alrite lads, just wanted to say congratulations on winning the league today! Sorry if i made u all sweat today ( Ha Ha). Secondly i just want to say i've really enjoyed the time i've had at Bramham this season and also thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome. Hopefullly i will be welcome back next season as i've really enjoyed it! Looking forward to seeing u all at the presentation. Posted by Gaz (keeper) on 12 May 2007 GOOD LUCK Good luck today, hope you beat bedale! i enjoyed the game on thursday, even tho we lost!(dodgy ref!!) Seems like you have a real proud footballing town! I think most teams hope you will go up today, so we dont have to play u next fucking season! All the best! p.s looking foward to watching jason'gazza'wright 2day! Posted by BRETT on 12 May 2007 Points total Good luck today to Bramham & Bedale, Just a little thought for the day. The team that does win the title will have done it by beating last seasons winning total of 53 points, in fact three teams will have beaten last seasons 53 points. 49 points won it the season before. Time to let us in the top division! We promise to go easy on them!! Posted by chub on 12 May 2007 Today Good luck today Lads. Sorry i cant be there to watch you win the league. well done All the best from the secound XI and me! Posted by The plough on 12 May 2007 Well done and good luck tomorow. As you are probably aware the Premier Division title also came down to the last game when we drew with Sherwood which sadly wasnt enough and they won the league by a point. A guess we might see you and Bedale next season. For your info the bottom three last season was Pannal,Beckwithshaw and Pool. The previous season was Beckwithshaw, Harlow Hill and Addingham.Only the bottom side was relegated in eaxch case. Posted by Thirsk Falcons on 11 May 2007 Congratulations to both Bedale and Bramham who have been great competition to us Albert lads this year... Plenty of banta and some great matches played between the sides. It is unfortunate that we had to play 5 matches inside 2 weeks at the end of the season but i suppose that comes with doing well in all competitions! We looked tired last night but cant take anything away from Bedale - they played well and deserved the win - we couldnt score when we had our 20minutes of pressure at the end of the 1st half. If you do both go up we'll miss the fixtures next year!! Hopefully see you in the cup... Posted by Kris Sutton - Albert FC on 11 May 2007 * ATTENTION * It's only just dawned on me that no matter what the result of the bedale/bramham m game saturday - Albert will finish in second place !! Posted by the albert on 12 May 2007 You might be second. If you are happy with that then go celebrate!! Bring on the title. Posted by on 12 May 2007 if you would have said to me at the beginning of the season that we'd finished in second place then YES i would have taken that quite happily thank you very much ! Posted by the albert on 12 May 2007 Bedale , Saturday Well done tonight , good win against Masham...Unfortunatly I can't be there on Saturday , so I will wish you good luck . I'm sure can do it ...See you Tuesday at the AGM Posted by Tosh on 10 May 2007 Well its down to the wire!! between the best two teams in the league. As for Albert i cant understand why they are so high up in the league, they were awful last night. And without sounds funny ALbert, you dont half whinge. ha Lets keep it fair, lets not let it turn into a kicking match, i dont think it will as we're both footballing teams. Good Luck Bramham and Bedale (More Bedale tho.) Posted by Bedale Town FC on 11 May 2007 I would just like to echo Tosh's comments ,I like tosh cant make it to watch but hopefully on Sat night i will be having a few pints with the 1st div champions in the White Horse, Bramham. Good luck lads and if there is any justice you will playing premier div football next season all be it a year later than you should have. Posted by Ted on 11 May 2007 I agree with your comments about Albert. I have watched them 4-5 times over last couple of weeks and they are a shadow of the team that we played earlier in the season. Their recent results have been unconvincing winning many games by the odd goal (Pannal asside of course)Having said that they have run Bedale & Bramham very close this season and deserve credit for sticking in there. The best two teams will now play a cup final type game to see who wins the title. Posted by chub on 11 May 2007 congratulations bedale on beating us last night 2-0. The fact that you fielded 5/6 players from somewhere else is besides the point. But to be fair you only had two chances which your lads took very well. I believe if we had have played the original bedale team then it might have been different. Congratulations all the same ! Posted by the albert on 11 May 2007 Haha that is laughable but never mind. The fact that you said we only had two chances amazes me, how we didn't put the other 3 sitters away from 6 yards is beyond me! Been a good season for you boys though and thank you for your best wishes. Good luck next season. that Dameo lad on the wing is a good player - keep hold of him!! Posted by Bedale on 11 May 2007 masham v bramham good game tonight lads shame we lost out centre back coz it would have been a lot closer , good luck on sat Posted by on 10 May 2007 Dinner Rich, Can you please send me details of the dinner, if I am still ok to come. Thanks Mark Posted by Mark Tasker on 10 May 2007 Bloody Hell Mark!! Course your welcome to come!!!!! Posted by Rich on 10 May 2007 hope you are looking forward to a beating tonight!!! Posted by Mashams Best Player on 10 May 2007 We will try our best to raise a side, and give you a game but it should be easy for you guys as half our team have to travel over 70 miles, thats why we prefer to play on Saturdays Posted by One of the Saturday boys on 10 May 2007 Pannal v Albert Thank you for watching last night but i'm not too sure about your comments? Firstly do you even know the rules concerning offside? Then for the three penalties, there wasn't more than one pannal player opposing the refs decision on each penalty. You don't stop there with the blame, i'm not sure but i don't think pannal wanted to lose in the way they did last night, no player or team don't give it their best. So please for the sake of the decent players amongst your set up give it a rest or do the decent thing begin to ref matches. One last gripe out of 37 matches and with a chance to win the title, don't make me laugh ha ha ha, good luck....... Posted by Real Albert Player on 09 May 2007 I never said the penalties weren't justified!! But as for the 2 x off sides, they were stone wallers!! Posted by chub on 11 May 2007 end of season knees up Chubb how much are the tickets for the do and when do you need the money. Could you please let me know how much i owe in fines please i need to settle my account before i retire. Tosh dont worry mate i havent scored this season either. But we cant be as good looking as we are, tackle as many players as we do and score goals as well can we! Posted by The plough on 08 May 2007 Linz, Tickets for the bash are £20 and if you have not got a letter detailing the menu choices let me know and I'll get one out to you, if you let me have a note of your address ( or e mail address). I need choices and money in by 19th May please. Players stat page has been updated re fines etc and I reckon it is £6 ( Originally £8 of which £2 was paid off in respect of a caution against Pateley Bridge) Posted by Rich on 08 May 2007 What do you mean retire young man? I'm not bothered about scoring this season , a few others seem to be , when your as good as we are , you don't need to worry about scoring . Although I've got to add , thanks to Rich Milner ,who seemed to be the only player trying to set me up to score..Cheers Rich Posted by on 10 May 2007 In the interest of fair play can somebody from Bedale let us know how many games they have won by a walkover. We have had 2, Spa & Masham. Albert have had 2, Spa & Kirk Deighton. It would seem fair for all concerned if they have also won 2 via this method. Posted by chub on 08 May 2007 In all honesty i cant remember Bedale winning by these means?? I may be wrong but as far as i know we've played all our games and haven't won any other teams not turning up. So looks like it could be us two after if we can get a result at Albert!! Posted by Bedale Town FC on 08 May 2007 Don't forget Yorkshire Amateurs. They are a shoe in for the top division. Posted by Chub on 08 May 2007 Yorkshire Amateurs from the third/second div?? I dont think the league will ever allow them to jump divisions and go straight to the prem would they?? The only regular not to score was Dave Westerman , although Col Maltby didn't score in the league!!Just looked at the date & "on this day in history" (4th) 11 years ago we beat Spa to become the first division 1 side to win the challenge cup.Anyway time to get another can of cider :-)) Posted by Tosh on 04 May 2007 Good one Tosh. I'll never forget one of Jez Wilton's tackles against Bramhope? that year. I think the ground is still shaking! Never seen 20 other players just stop in fear with the ball still in play... I do remember 21 players shake their collective heads in unison at one of Col's strikes at goal though. Great memories of that season. Come on the Bramham lads. Posted by Phil Alker on 04 May 2007 Has anybody got a photo of that team that beat Spa? 11 years, seems just like yesterday. Posted by chub on 05 May 2007 Tosh your a great lad a great player but sad. One game to go mate and you have yet to score mate ,so to coin a phrase that suits you as far as goals go your drinking in the last chance saloon . Posted by Ted on 05 May 2007 i may have only scored ONE goal that season, but it was an extra time winner in the cup QF @ hampsthwaite!!A 'bullet header' from jays corner.I only went up for ONE corner all year!!,& that was because taff was off the field injured!! Posted by col on 05 May 2007 Ted , although I haven't scored for the club this season , I have probably scored more goals for Bramham than most of today's team!! With nearly 60,000 hits since launch last July its been a tremendous response and in recent weeks it has become apparant that many clubs in the league are regular visitors. Thanks to everyone for your input and if you would care to respond I would be very pleased to add your name and club to our list of contributors Posted by Rich on 04 May 2007 Cup Final IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT TO WIN ANOTHER CUP LAST NIGHT LADS BUT IT JUST WASNT MEANT TO BE, ON ANOTHER NIGHT THE CHANCES WE CREATED WOULD HAVE GONE IN AND WE WOULD BE LOOKING AT A TOTALLY DIFFERENT RESULT BUT ALAS THEY DIDNT AND HAROLD STYANS TOOK THEIR CHANCES WELL. YOU CAN BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THIS SEASON ESPECIALLY AFTER THE SHOCKING START WE HAD SO WELL DONE LADS. OTLEY AT HOME ON SATURDAY IS OUR LAST GAME SO LETS FINISH IN STYLE WITH A WIN THAT WILL GUARANTEE US A VERY CREDITABLE 5TH PLACE IN A VERY VERY GOOD 3RD DIVISION THERE ARE SIX TEAMS IN THAT DIVISION WHO WOULD FANCY THERE CHANCES IN THE 2ND DIVISION AND WE ARE ONE OF THEM. SO HOLD YOUR HEADS UP HIGH LADS ITS BEEN A PLEASURE. PS IF I DONT SHOUT AND BAWL ITS BECAUSE IM DEAD SO IF YOU STOP HEARING ME GET YOUR BLACK SUITS OUT AND YOUR CLUB TIES ON AND GIVE ME A GOOD SEND OFF. Or even better deduct 3 points from the start of the following season. Does anybody know if you get fined for failing to field a team and if so how much? How many games would it take before a team were expelled for failing to fullfill a fixture. Posted by drew on 30 April 2007 Some stats to digest, no doubt Tosh will have some better ones. The First team have scored 98 goals, 41 of those from Jason Wright. Jason scores an average of 1.7 goals for every game started. He has scored in 22 of the 26 games he has played an impressive 85%. The firsts score 2.88 goals / Game, The reserves score 2.18 goals / Game. John Reynolds is still top reserve team goal scorer with 14 goals at an average of 0.58 goals / Game. John scored 9 of his 14 goals in a 5 game period. Adam tasker has the best reserve team goal/game ratio scoring 0.69 goals/game Jason Wright & Gareth Hughes share the goal scoring streak both scoring in 7 games on the trot The firsts average 2.16 points/game, the reserves 1.68 points/game. Anything above 2 is impressive. Matty Dodsworth has missed just two first team games all season, both through suspension, whilst Titch Craven has missed just one game all season for reasons none football related. Joe Farthing was the most consistant attendee until recently missing a game through illness. The firsts 8 wins on the trot could not match the reserves 10 wins on the trot. The firsts have used 36 players whilst the reserves have used 45 players. The club have now used a total of 54 players this season alone. Posted by col on 27 April 2007 Knaresborough 2 Albert 1 Posted by chub on 27 April 2007 match report our match report: Ammers 5 v 0 Bramham Smith 3, Hart, Rawson Ammers came through what proved to be their toughest test of the season last night, on paper it looks quite comfortable but all the players commented after the game on how bramham gave us a real test. In fact for the 1st 20-25 minutes Bramham were the better team, the turning point in the match came when we scored the 1st goal, great piece of individual briliance by number 9, controling the ball on the half way line, turned his marker ran at the defence and lobbed the keeper from about 25yards out. Bramham still kept going and would have felt a little unlucky to go in behind. 1-0 H/T Ammers came out firing right from the off in the 2nd half, and the outstanding russ hodder was starting to run the game, ammers 2nd goal came when Russ slipped in Dempsy and the lightning quick youngster finished off with real class, the 3rd goal was very similar, another through ball put dempsy in and he clipped it past the keeper into the far corner. The 4th goal was another belter from campo, another great individual effort taking on 3 bramham players before rifling a bullet of a shot into the side netting from about 25yards out. Dempsy rounded of a great display for him with his 3rd goal bravely challenging the keeper and roling the ball in the net. 5-0 F/T Ratings out of 10 1.Chris.......8 some great saves in th 1st half, 12th clean sheet of the season 2.Leyton....7 solid display even got forward at one point 3.Deany.....8 another controlled display made some great recovery tackles 4.Ant..........7 difficult 1st half agianst there lively number 10, solid 2nd half 5.Clytus......6 got a kick on the knee and had to come off 6.Dicko........6 great work rate and effort almost got a great goal after megging there captain 7.Jake.........6 good in the build up but final ball not there tonight 8.Russ.........9 Class display, controlled the game and got the team playing (mom) 9.Harty........6 great goal but some bad touches let his performance down 10.Dempsy..9 Lightning pace and clinical finishing, superb display 11.Loz.........8 Workmanlike performance, up and down all game 12.Campo...8 Sured up things at the back, great goal 14.Greg.......7 Got involved straight away Credit to bramham but our 2nd half showed what we are capable of. Posted by yorks ammers on 27 April 2007 Would have given the number 9 more than a six, thought he was a class act! Posted by chub on 27 April 2007 The first goal by the No 9 was worth a rating of 8 on its own,Drew says it was the best goal hes watched all season (only kidding Drew). Posted by Ted on 27 April 2007 Look on the bright side. You don't have to play them again and you have reached two cup finals that they haven't made. Need to get back to winning ways tomorrow before the final on Thursday. Posted by chub on 27 April 2007 that young lad upfront was by far the best player on the pitch last night!!! Posted by booker on 27 April 2007 i was watching the match last and to be honest, u were already 3-0 down before they brought thier first sub the defender on, then 4-0 down when they made the other 2 subs. so u were soundly beaten regardless of the substitutions. they wanted it more as a team and there midfield ran the game and dictated the level and tempo of play. the way they brought forwards into the game was far better than anything ive seen this season and ive watched alot of games. Posted by geoff P on 27 April 2007 i think the No:9 HARTY was class,it looks like he might have done the ratings;harsh to only give himself 6! Posted by col on 27 April 2007 Too be fair i actually thought that the score really flattered them. Posted by Drew on 27 April 2007 Lets be honest lads. They were a better side than us on the night. We were the better side in the first half and deserved to go into the break infront. But for the post and their keeper, we would have done. However, we didn't come out for the 2nd half and got what we deserved. I think only the Plough has the right to hold his head high. One defeat doesn't make us a bad side. They were the only team in the league with a longer unbeaten league run than ourselves. Ammers are by far and away the best side we've played this season and will be the best side we play for a long time even if we go up. The league made a big mistake putting them in Div 3 and they've shown that with their results. For them to say we are the best team they've played this season is a credit to us as they've played some Premier Division teams and also a credit to them for admitting they were in a game. For us to go there and expect to get a result shows how far we have come. Who'd have thought we'd be Spa-Cup winners, Supplementary-Cup finalists and probably just miss out on promotion after the start we had? Not bad for a tiny village reserve team eh lads? Congrats to Ammers for winning the league, however lads, we've got our 2nd bit of silverware to try win on Thursday night. UP THE BRAMHAMERS!!! Ted & Jacko's Barmy Army!!! It was good for the team to give you a performance worth watching. Thirdly, Congratulations to everybody in the SQUAD on Saturday and those who have played for the 2nds prior but were unavailable for wahtever reason. Im sure you'll be rewarded on presentation night. It made me proud for the 2nd team to lift a trophy for this club and shows what a quality outfit this club has become. Let's keep it going and win some more silverware! Posted by Elliott on 09 April 2007 Bramham FC I would just like to say a big thank you to the 1st team players and management for their support at the cup final last night(especially John Carrier), and the people of Bramham who turned out to support us aswell. I would also like to congratulate every single player who did Bramham FC proud against Harold Styans, i thought we thoroughly deserved our win and hopefully this cup win is the first of many. Our 1st team is littered with talented players but that win against Pool wasnt just about talent ,2 - 0 down against a team unbeaten @ home to come back and win 3 -2 is about hunger desire and having balls of steel. Our 1st team shouldnt even be playing in this division so if there is any justice they will go on to win ,for the 2nd yr in a row the 1st division and give the league an opportunity to correct the blunder they made last year and promote them into the premier division. I havent got many years in at Bramham but i have enjoyed every minute i have been at this club and hopefully will enjoy many more at this great club. Play as a team and get the referee on side. The club expects!! Posted by Chub on 07 April 2007 Im going to be there on Saturday, but I just wanted to wish the 2nd team good luck for saturdays final at Deighton. From the games that Ive watched this season the future looks good for Bramham.Lets just hope that we can get something to show for the hard work that all of the second team have put in this season. Good Luck boys and lets bring the cup back to Bramham.See you there Posted by Smitty on 06 April 2007 Can anyone with a club tie bring it to the pub tomorrow for the second team to use. They will be returned. I have got one for Drew, as requested. Posted by Chub on 06 April 2007 Cheers Chub matey, if u leave it at the white horse, i'll pick it up from there !! lets have another 3 points tomorrow to go with that spa cup we're gonna bring home !! Posted by drew on 06 April 2007 Support Just like to thank all the second team and the other regular supporters for the great turnout on Tuesday. It just shows what a great club we are. The favour will be returned for what promises to be another great night in the history books for this club. The reserves have proved what can be achieved through sheer graft and their has definately been a turnaround in the whole mood of the club since both teams went on these incredible unbeaten runs. I personally am very proud to be associated with Bramham, more now than in the last sixteen years of playing for them. Posted by Jason on 05 April 2007 Cup Final Dont forget boys Bramham ties to be worn & a suit , if you aint got a suit trousers & shirt will do. No Chavs so no trackies & trainers. If you aint got a tie see mick chub or rich or borrow one off a 1st teamer Posted by Ted on 03 April 2007 Points Chubb do we the get the points for saturday? if so is the table for saturday with these points? Could i have the address for Yorkshire Ams so that i can go straight there on thursday Posted by The Plough on 02 April 2007 The tables have been updated and include the 3 points we assume will automatically come our way as a result of Thirsk's no show. Yorkshire Amateurs address is as follows: Bracken Edge Roxholme Rd Leeds LS8 4DZ You can go to the web site (www.yorkshireamateur.org.uk) for directions Posted by Chub on 02 April 2007 Thankyou kind sir Will you be there on Saturday to see the mighty 2nd XI Lift the cup? Posted by The plough on 02 April 2007 We have arranged for our fixture against Pool on Saturday to have a 2pm kick off which will enable us to get to Kirk Deighton for about 4.30. I believe all the first team will be attending. Many will be there on Thursday to see you play Yorkshire Amateurs. Chub Posted by chub on 29 March 2007 Workin non-stop chub.Ive spoken with mick, will confirm with him on friday night Posted by col on 29 March 2007 Well done A quick note of congratulation to the club. I know that on Saturday the first X1 played in a truely commanding fashion, as we are capable of. The opposition, bless them, didnt know what hit them. They were so lucky to only conceed 4 and we ought to continue to stamp the 'Bramham way' as hard and effectively as possible into this league. The second X1, sound like a prize posession to the club. Great ability present, good attitudes and excellent results. Not to mention the dedicated, hard working management and other members of the club. Sermon over. Bramham seems once again to be represented by lads whom other players are apprehensive about playing. Well done the Bramhamers. Posted by Phil Alker on 27 March 2007 Saturday We need to get our heads out of our arses for the weekend. As Tasker said at the weekend saturdays match was Cattrick's cup final. We took our foot of the gas and we were punished.Ref aside we cant blame anyone but ourselves. Yes the two decsions were shocking but we carry on. We have to start playing as a team and playing as if all the refs are against us. Other teams contest everything and at our standard its usually a case of who ever shouts loudest. Heads up lads. Good old Harrogate league Posted by Tosh on 24 March 2007 Trust me Tosh, we have played Harold Styans first team twice and I am 100% confident that you can and will beat their first team if they want to do what you are suggesting. Can anything not be done with regards to calling the YA game off?. Well done saturday lads proved yet again we can play S**T and still win Posted by THE PLOUGH on 21 March 2007 Its the price of success Lynds!! Must just correct you on the Yorkshire Amateurs situation. They never called the game off at all, they simply had another fixture to play, which is the reason why we never got the three points. Yorkshire Amateurs were completely blameless. Posted by Chub on 21 March 2007 Sorry chubb i thought they called it off. Success, the hard way it is then mate! And the best player at the club and in the whole league and has been since he was seventeen is my good looking boss Jason.(pay rise please) Posted by Rocker on 12 March 2007 I think ryan is the best player at bramham, cant wait for him to get back from his injury!! Posted by Ryans Mum on 12 March 2007 As the doctor of Ryan Dowson I must warn all Bramham fans that it is unlikely that Ryan will play again this season. It is only 2 weeks ago that Ryan visited our surgery and laid it on so thick that we believed that he wouldn't play again this season. In an attempt to gain more sympathy he then carried this image forward to all at Bramham and Boston. Posted by Ryans Doctor on 12 March 2007 As we all know so well ryan isn't the best player at the club even he is aware of this fact and is just so pleased he is lucky enough to play with such modern day legends especially the one's who talk such a good game. It must be hard to shout at everybody and still order brett to do ALL of his leg work. He is a true hero You have the vote from the footy mum's of bramham for player of the year aslong as that includes a section for biggest ego Posted by everybody elses mum on 12 March 2007 Today Just like to say what a joy it was to watch our second goal today , brilliant lads...I have been playing at Bramham alot of years & that is one of the best team goals I have seen...I think Drew enjoyed it aswell , fantastic...& well done to the first team...What a club , I wouldn't play anywhere else & yes I've had a few beers ;-) Posted by Tosh on 10 March 2007 I also share this view with Tosh, which i pointed out straight after we scored to Tosh ! You really had to be there to see the movement and first time passes to give the credit the goal deserves, quality ! Just a mention on how we defended yesterday, i think i had 3 touches in the 2nd half and apart from my only save of the game, thats all i had to do all game ! We played in difficult conditions and it was abit scrappy but we are in that semi final, well done lads, lets push for promotion, theres 3 big league games comin up, no room for complacity ... can Ryan check the spellin on that one please ! Well done 1st team as well ! Posted by Drew on 11 March 2007 Well done Lads. Credit to the club and the village. Final here we come. Dont worry ryan i used to speak good england. Or at least i used to could when i was a children. It is true Ryan you are just a pretty face. Posted by jason on 08 March 2007 A very pretty face jason i might add. I welcome your sarcastic reply jason just remember we can't all be perfect!!!!!!!!!can we??? Posted by Booker on 27 February 2007 Apologies May i just take this opportunity to apologise to my old pal Tosher. As you can see by the date of the message i was still very pissed off mainly with my own performance. I know most of it is harmless banter but i am a big believer in keeping out the neighbours if you know what i mean. The main thing is both teams having a common goal, enough people have got it in for Bramham without us airing our wasing in public. Fantastic to see the 2nds rack up another victory and with Josh and Brett making storming appearances for the 1sts recently it just shows what a phenomenal crop of talent that is coming through and what a great job Jacko and Ted are doing. Also quick mention about Mick Fox and what a great servant to the club he has been, oh and we need to keep those hot dogs on mate they were awesome.JW Posted by Jason on 26 February 2007 Thanks for the apology Jase , as Ted says , If I would have said what I said on here in the pub , you would have known what I was getting at....As you should know , if I have anything nasty to say ,I will say it to somebodies face....I am sorry for upsetting you , as we have been mates for a long time Posted by Tosh on 04 March 2007 SEMI FINAL For those of you who still may not know, we are playing Thirsk in the semi final of the cup this saturday. Hopefully we will win and have a chance of a 1st trophy for the second team by winning the final. However if we get beat lets make sure its because of our performance on the day and not because a few of our players got shitfaced on Friday night and and played with hangovers. Your all grown men and nobody is telling you to stay in, just use your brains if you do go out . Posted by booker on 21 February 2007 fines Chubb i think that i have paid my fines i gave my money to ted in the white horse after the bookings. I thought the second booking was harsh as i only just touched the player. Any way Ted told me to do it. Whats a man meant to do when the management team shouts "HACK HIM! HACK HIM!" To me ted is a sort of Man who decides the fate of numerous counter parts by a simple thumbs up or thumbs down much like ancient rome. Only kiddin! For any parents interested in bringing their children down to the club its nothing like rome,........ It was much more civilised back then! Posted by The plough on 19 February 2007 Linds' If its wrong then its my fault cos I look after the numbers! Posted by Elliott on 20 February 2007 What happened to you boys?? Pretty surprised at the weekends result for you boys. Thought you might have got a result there!! What went wrong?? Posted by Bedale FC on 19 February 2007 Anything we say will sound like excuses, however, The pitch was an absolute shocker, the refereee inspected for 20 minutes before game having changed from his trainers into wellies. Albert played well to the conditions, total route one football. We also had to field our weekest team of the season following injuries, players away etc etc. Posted by Chub on 19 February 2007 Weakest team of the season?? I can count at least 8 first choice players that played , & of the other 3 , one was MOM ...Keep looking in the book of excuses Chub...Were you playing uphill , against the wind & with the sun in your eyes in both halves? Posted by Tosh on 19 February 2007 Tosh no first choice players played, even though there were a few there! Posted by Rich on 19 February 2007 Whoops....Cheers Rich , I walked straight into that one...Never mind put it down as a bad game , it's not the first we've had this season Posted by Tosh on 19 February 2007 Find that hard to believe looking at team sheet and match report? there werent many missing Posted by Booker on 20 February 2007 Nice to see Tosh encouraging the first team again lads. Apart from Gaz Lloyd and young Brett i think we all hold our hands up and say we were rubbish. It would be nice however to be part of a club now and again, rather than a team. I thought you were a bit older and wiser than that Tosher, it seems maybe i was wrong. I cant remember the last time i played up front with the same player two games running let alone the last time we fielded a full strength team. But as these will just be put down to excuses an explanation would be futile. Its funny though how when the seconds get beat you never get a first teamer gloating on the website. PATHETIC Please make sure this goes on Richard as my last two messages seem to have been lost in transit. Posted by jason on 20 February 2007 Tosh maybe you could explain my reply to your message so that Mr Booker gets the drift!! I am on the verge of issuing a website yellow card to him! Posted by Rich on 20 February 2007 You Boys in the 1sts have had a bad result but we all know that that same team is capable of 6 or 7 wins on the spin which will put you in a miles better position than that result has you in at the moment. hopefully at the end of this season you can look back at the Albert game and laugh. Many a good team have been beaten by pitch conditions in the past and many will in the future too. Form is temporary class is permanent and theres enough class in that team to get you were you should already be and thats in the premier division. I do agree with Jason though about how bad Toshs remarks look in writing and maybe some things which are said in jest should actually be spoken and not written as they dont always come across in the manner they were meant to. When any team from Bramham loses on a saturday the club suffers especially when its our 1sts. The more top quality players who are attracted to the 1st team the more quality filters down to the 2nds. So anybody who does take pleasure at a bad day at the office for the 1sts is a bit of a fool and a little bit short sighted. I hope i dont have to type anything this long again as its taken me F****** ages and my typing finger is killing me. Posted by Ted on 20 February 2007 **PLEASE NOTE** before any dummies are spat out, this 1st paragraph is a joke. There are no bitchy comments about the 2nds losing because last time we lost, computers were just a pipe dream & Bill Gates was in short trousers! I agree with Jase though. This 1st team/2nd team crap is a waste of time & web space. Please be constructive or don't bother leaving messages. Im gutted the 1sts lost as Im sure many, if not all the 2nds are, especially as it was so heavily. Lets not look for excuses like he wasn't available or cant play the same team every week. Jacko & Ted haven't played the same XI once this season through no fault of their own, it's up to the 14 players in the squad to do the business so heres hoping you lads put it right for next Sat & that both teams can win some silverware this season. UP THE BRAMHAMERS!!!!! Posted by Elliott on 20 February 2007 Jason , point me in the direction of where I have had a go at the first team please....I tried to word it very carefully so as not too look as if I was having a go at the team , obviously in your eyes I failed..Sorry Jase , it was not meant to have a go...The bit about Chub & excuses is a carry over from last year of what he used to say at every half-time team talk , hopefully Chub knows what I mean...Then the 2nd message was just saying it was a bad game , not particularly nasty of me..If I offended you or any of the first team boys , or other club members I apologise. Posted by Tosh on 20 February 2007 i'll play up front with u 4 the rest of the season jason? Posted by col on 21 February 2007 I totally agree with you Jason, Im in the same boat as you on this.I think we must of played with about 7 different Left Midfielders this season. Only 2 players maybe 3 can hold their heads up after Saturday, but I think the rest of us owe not only ourselves but the club a performance to suggest that last Saturday was a bad day at the office. As for all this bickering between 1st team and 2nd team players I think its about time we all grew up and started to pull together, and concentrate on doing whats best for the club. Both teams are in very good positions in the league, so we should be supporting each other hoping each team wins their respective leagues or gains promotion, and then we can have a good old knees up at Presentation night! Come on Lads lets Pull together for these vital games coming up & Give something for the club to proud of!!!!!! Posted by Smitty on 21 February 2007 For what exactly? i was stating that your excuse of being without 1st teamers was untrue. I kno that the club need to stick together which is fair enough as we are a club not 2 seperate sides! Posted by Col on 17 February 2007 Yeah probably Col, seen as though Rocker aint playing next week, you might make the bench. But on the other hand anyone could be playing next week after that display. 2 players could hold their head up after Saturday, the rest may all be eagerly awaiting the squads been annouced on Wednesday at training. Did the t'old hamster in on Sunday and seeing as though they are not very good i thought i would miss this weekend to recover so that i am fit for future weeks. By the way did you see that finish on Saturday! Posted by Adam Tasker on 31 January 2007 Ok Tasker.Great finish ,cool as you like, the only problem is it was your 10th chance If saturday was a game of darts youd av ended up on double 1. PS if you get out of the changing rooms put your fag out and warm up your hamstring would be ok :) see you on saturday mate. Posted by Ted on 02 February 2007 The Way it is Just a little note to the lads. I was disapointed on saturday with the performance.Collectively as a team with really were slack. I hope the lads dont think that im getting on at them, but with the high standards been set every game i have have come to expect this week in week out. I want to win and its as simple as that. When i have a go on the pitch it is nothing personal, and if you think im a t**t fair enough i just hope a little of what i say sinks in. Looking forward to the next game im sure we can get back to our usual standards. Posted by The Plough on 29 January 2007 You are dead right we were garbage on saturday therefore you as captain have every right to demand better from your team mates . Luckily we managed to conjure a goal and win the game but we are miles better than we showed on saturday & nobody should accept saturdays performance,so keep shouting plough and hopefully we can achieve the level of performance we are capable of but week in week out. Posted by Ted on 30 January 2007 Agree with you there plough. i think most of us had poor games on saturday barr a few players... we still managed to scrape the win just like most good teams do...so lets play better away at thirsk this weekend and get promotion from this league. Posted by Booker on 30 January 2007 Lee (Taff) Jones... G,day Wrighty,Taff and Jason W.Ally Haining here,i used to play with you guys at Bramham for a few seasons and bloody had a great time and won a few medals to boot !! I think i played from 93-96 or there abouts, got promoted 2 years on the trot and won a few cups.Never forget that cup we won at Dishforth when Kevin Elliott got a smack from one of their guys on the sideline, ive still got the photos, what a peach of a black eye !! Im living in Sydney,Australia now, married with 2 kids,Brooke(2 years) and Lachlan(5 months),i was in Bramham Sep 03 in the White Horse having a pint with Watto and the boys then went onto go drinking with big Chris Conway in Wetherby,Back in Bramham Sep 08.Jason good to see youve still got it mate.I,ll never forget the only time you got injured your old man replaced you with me upfront and i went onto score 8 goals in one game,i think it was against some mob caled St Johns or something, you came back the following game and i went back on the bench !! Anyway it was all good fun.Been in Oz since 99,married for 5 years.Taff if you get this send me an e-mail,i tried to track you down when i was there in 03 but no joy big guy.Im still playing but Over 35s(Where your not allowed to slide tackle, took me a while to get used to that rule!!!)All the best,Ally(Scotsman) Haining-ahaining2002@yahoo.com.au Posted by Ally Haining on 29 January 2007 THE LEGENDS i see we have added Neil Slynn to the legends page.As a club the three biggest matches/wins for this club are the BARKSTONE ASH cup & the HARROGATE LEAGUE challenge cup(TWICE).J WRIGHT & G SHOOTER played in all three,as did P ALKER,L APPLEYARD & ME!!!i think we should be included in the legends!!!p.s L JONES played in one & was coach in the other two so maybe he should be added as well.pps maybe A MALTBY & P FIRTH,they were involved in two of them Posted by Col on 27 January 2007 Col, I agree with you totally. In My view Neil Slinn is a complete footballing legend, however not at Bramham. And May I correct you, I captained Bramham to 2 x Harrogate challenge cup finals and was in the squad for a third as well as being in the squad for the BA Cup victory Posted by Chub on 27 January 2007 Chub i know you played in two harrogate cup finals, but we only one won of them.i'm talking about the two times we won it. Posted by Col on 28 January 2007 Your being a bit picky there I think. It wasn't my fault we didn't win, I seem to remember the referee had a helping hand!! Posted by Chub on 28 January 2007 & Mr Slinn? It was the miss of any season, even better/worse than ryans V pannal! Posted by Col on 28 January 2007 cheers col people stopped talkin bout that. you'd of seen the raw footballing talent i have if you were there sat, havin a big hand in the first 2 and scoring the third. you need to stop dreamin about the past and try look into the future of bramham fc Posted by RYAN on 06 February 2007 Ryan Ran out of gas on the hour Col, we didn't do that in our day did we!! I have been dropped by Mick and replaced for reasons not known to myself. I am going to bow out gracefully and play else where this year. I wish you all the sucess in the coming months. Thanks Mark Posted by Mark Tasker on 27 January 2007 is this a wind up?the squad on this website has mark playing in goal!who played in goal today? Posted by Col on 27 January 2007 I recognise Marks desire to play regular first team football and would like to wish him well for the remainder of the season. Throughout the season Mark has always conducted himself in an exemplary manner whenever he has represented Bramham Football club. Posted by Rich on 27 January 2007 I just want to play Richard.I wasn't picked for the second team, dropped straight from the 1st team to nothing! Posted by Mark Tasker on 27 January 2007 Team Selection Mick or Chubs, I do not have either of your telephone numbers to contact you on. I am not sure whether I am selected this week. Posted by Gaz Hughes on 26 January 2007 darts chubs i will reserve three tickets for the darts one for me jason and bev will sort the bugs out it you at weekend Posted by rocker on 25 January 2007 Saturday Ted, What time meet is it on saturday and who was this lad coming over from manchester for saturdays game. We don't have anyone from that far out do we? Posted by Tasker on 24 January 2007 Try, Jason, Rocker, Gareth Hughes, Gareth Lloyd, ALL from Manchester. Where have you been all season?? Posted by Chub on 24 January 2007 Think it's a 12 meet on Sat Task. It's a cup game I think, so it'll be a 1.30 kick-off. Posted by Elliott on 25 January 2007 Escape to victory Ted didnt you star in escape to victory? Just as an observation we dont seam to have "The Luck" as other clubs have in our division. I mean in terms of the decisions going favourably towards the clubs involved. Whereas we seam to get the rough end of stick. Is it something that we are not doing or something that we have done in the past?. I am not pointing the finger at anyone in the club as i think that you all do a fantastic job. But it seams that some clubs seam to get everything they put in for. Posted by The Plough on 24 January 2007 I personally didnt star in escape to victory but Ossie Ardiles played me in the film. We dont get descisions probably because of the same reason why the first team didnt get promoted which is our location, hence the saying wrong side of the river either that or we just arent as good at whingeing as other clubs. Posted by Ted on 25 January 2007 Rumour has it that Pele actually played you Ted but we all know that isn't true as you are nothing alike. You are a right-back not a forward. I heard that it was John Wark that played you in the film as he was an identical match! Posted by Elliott on 26 January 2007 Cancelled Game With Yorkshire Amateurs cancelling our game on saturday and failing to tell either ourselves or the league am i right in assuming we will pursue & do we expect to get the points awarded to us,or is it only teams that get games cancelled by Bramham who get the points. Posted by Ted on 22 January 2007 Ted, Yorkshire Amateurs didn't cancel the game, they had another fixture that takes priority. The two teams are supposed to talk to each other in the week leading up to the game to confirm that the match is still going ahead. I believe the home team is supposed to contact the away team. Posted by Chub on 22 January 2007 If Rob Davison hadnt rung them to let them know about a referee change we would have gone to Leeds to play the fixture, one player travelling all the way from Manchester. If the boot had been on the other foot and Mick hadnt notified the league we would lose the points. Posted by Ted on 22 January 2007 It does need digging a little deeper, however its a bit like playing Russian roulette with all bullets loaded!! We would probably loose the points (Remember Beckwithshawe last season) Posted by Chub on 24 January 2007 Beckwithshaw seems to play a big part in this club, remember the final when Beckwithshaw played more ringers than we saw in escape to wictory. Posted by Ted on 24 January 2007 Fines Chub, Please can you confirm where the £8 it says I owe is from cos Im sure I paid everything I owe and the last I heard, this was confirmed by Jacko. Posted by Elliott on 15 January 2007 Fortunately for me I don't have anything to do with fines. Richard updates the fines on the website from info supplied by both team managers and paperwork received from the league, bookings etc. I will ask Richard to look into this issue. Posted by Chub on 16 January 2007 Chris we got a batch of bookings through just before Christmas and it was from the match with Harold Styans. If this is incorrect, please let me know, so I can check the paperwork with Mick Fox. Special thanks to Chris as I know that when you do pick up any bookings you are always quick to pay your dues Posted by Rich on 16 January 2007 chris u got booked 4 openin your big gob, enuff said m8!! Posted by col on 16 January 2007 Well said col Posted by Booker on 18 January 2007 Booker, pot, kettle, black. At least I've never been taken off cos my gob has run away with me. Silly bugger! It says you owe the club £30. Enough said. Colin who? Do you still play for the club? Altogether now.... "You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you". Cheers Mick. It was so long ago, I didn't know whether it had been sent in or not. It will be paid on Sat. Posted by Elliott on 19 January 2007 That was meant to say cheers Rich not Mick. Posted by Elliott on 19 January 2007 chris, who do you think you are?dropped like a hot potato from the 1st team!where are you in the queue now?why so jealous?its not my fault you are an ugly beaver,i think you give james a good run for his money Posted by Col on 20 January 2007 I think Im a player who plays for whichever team he is picked for regardless of how near or far it is from my house. Im not jealous at all Col. I don't care whether I play for the 1sts, 2nds or 5ths if we had a 5th team. Im a CLUB man. Im proud to play for Bramham FC regardless of which team it is. I don't feel the need to have to say to people I play for the 1sts just to impress them. 1st team management feel they have better players than me in my position and thats fair enough. I don't have a problem with that. As for being ugly, we both know that isn't true for if I were ugly, we'd be related! No offence Tosh, we all know you're the good looking Maltby brother. Posted by Elliott on 21 January 2007 looks like bringin me off was a good move...maybe it made me curve my ways with my gob...last seasons fines....its alll just passion for the game!!!! Posted by Booker on 21 January 2007 Chris, I doubt Colin wrote the comment attributed to his name!! Posted by chub on 22 January 2007 Fair enough. I withdraw my verbal assault! I also apologise to Col if he didn't write it. As far as Col goes, I may be able to push some business his way if he does accident repair. Joe has a Corsa shaped dint in his Astra & Titch has an Astra shaped dint in his Corsa. How strange!!! Now, Im not apportioning any blame even though I was a witness, but lets just say Joe was stationary! A real money spinner methinks Col. Posted by Elliott on 22 January 2007 Heard about that little incident. Quality!!!!! Posted by Chub on 24 January 2007 Training I know that we cant help the weather & Conditions of the training area, but we haven't trained for nearly 6 weeks, and if like everybody says in the club we want to win things and progress up the leagues, then dont we need to train? When we have held training sessions up at the ground we have only been getting a handful of people! Why?I think it is down to the training area. I dont want to sound as though Im trying to cause unrest in the camp, I would just like to see the club holding a training night,I as much as anyone would like to see Bramham FC in as a high a standard of football as anyone, and training regularly would only enhance our chances of this.I was fortunate enough last season to be able to attend a few training sessions which were held up at Tad Grammar which were very well attended, so would it not make sense to try this again, and then maybe more people may turn up to training if they knew it was going to be on and that they wouldn't be wasting their time going to a training session which consists of 6 people(1 of which is Chubb)! Posted by Smitty on 10 January 2007 This was discussed at last nights committee meeting and we will be making every effort to have a training facility (other than the playing field) if not for the rest of this season then definately for next season. Posted by Chub on 10 January 2007 Training at Tad Grammar is fair enough but astro-turf plays nothing like grass so is it realy worth it? Ok, it will keep fitness levels up but so will running. As for the poor turn-outs, I know I don't attend training as much as I would like to but I don't usually finish work before 6. If I can make it, I do. Posted by Elliott on 10 January 2007 ure well under the thumb thats why !!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Drew on 11 January 2007 I know Elliot will reply to that one Drew, But come on!!! YOU can hardly criticise Chris for being under the thumb, think about it!!! Posted by chub on 11 January 2007 Drew, gun, bullet, shoot, foot,ah the pain. Posted by Ted on 11 January 2007 I can firmly deny any thing to do wit that msg 4 mr Eliott .... your right chub, i wudnt hav the cheek to put anything about bein under the thumb or the subject of trainin !!!! Is it correct that we r playin at Boston 4 saturdays game n that we r playin Otley n not Wetherby ???? Posted by Drew on 11 January 2007 ill put myself forward for the next penalty.! Posted by Booker on 10 January 2007 Strikers should take penalties, good for their confidence, unless you miss regularly - Tasker!! Posted by Chub on 10 January 2007 No problem for me elliot i can play as well every week i hope. Me and plough will be formidable. and just for the records it was my cross in that was handled by the defender for the penalty at the weekned. Just to clarify as well i definately got the final touch for the winner. Posted by Booker on 10 January 2007 Having taken statements from several witnesses, the goal you "Scored" on Saturday has been awarded as an Own Goal. The goal will go down in Bramham history as an own goal. Get over it and try again on Saturday. This info has been passed onto the club "statto" - Tosh Posted by Chub on 10 January 2007 Fair enough Booker, it was your cross. As I keep saying, if anybody feels they can do a better job writing up the match reports, they are welcome to do them. It's not easy playing & then having to remember how everything happened to do a match report! Especially as I play Sundays and Monday nights too before the report is done. Posted by Elliott on 10 January 2007 Funny, out of everybody at the game on Saturday, only Booker thinks he got a touch to our third goal! Hmm, can't see you getting any credit for that one! Posted by Elliott on 10 January 2007 Dont take this as critism but 'third goal', i thought we only scored 2 ??!! we'll hav to start tapin the ##### mouth up before every game if he can play like that every week, lets welcome back the plough n Brett this week nn kick on !!! Posted by Drew on 11 January 2007 Booker Whats this i read? Booker mouth shut? Good game? Seams that the boys come good. Its here on the page Booker let your football do the talking, instead of talking your way into the book. well done mate. One other question if the ugliest man at the club is away who has steped into his boots? Posted by THE PLOUGH on 10 January 2007 We cut his tongue out before the game , thats why he never spoke. The mystery-spineless people who claim to be, the voice of the second team, mr concerned, mr washroom earlier in the season etc, YOU HAVE NO PLACE WITHIN OUR FOOTBALL CLUB.We are one club.If you don't like our policies and procedures then come and see me and I'll sort out your transfer it's that simple, to be honest with you I'm pretty sure the club would pay the transfer fee to get rid of you.Being 1 of the people responsible for re-launching Bramham back into the football comunity I am proud of the achivements made in such a short space of time, we hoped for some success but the TROPHY'S picked up in the TWO SEASONS we've been back is nothing short of fantasy.I wont enter into bandying of words with you on the web, that is not the webs function,I will however make statements to all, as and when I feel I should, I will always put my name to what I write, thats what men do. If you think that you will destroy the fabric of Bramham fc then you really are sad individuals. The Officers of Bramham fc are elected every year at the A.G.M. This is an open meeting when anyone who is or is not connected with Bramham fc has there chance to make there feelings known, stand for election to any office within the club,Chair, secretary treasurer, manager etc. if you cannot wait that long then bring me your fears and proposals and I will call an E.(emergancy)G.M.it really is that simple. If you think that your concerns don't warrent an E.G.M. then speak to either of the team managers or there assisstants if it concerns the manager or come and speak to me and I assure yout that I will raise the issue at the next committee meeting alternatively you are more than welcome to attend the committee meetings yourself they are held the 1st tuesday of every month 8pm at the White Horse. You may give a few hours a week to train and play I like several others not only give time we could spend with our families but also funding I provide you with food after games, light and heating for your after match showers, not one of the the club officials charge as entitled for phone calls all these contributions are made to try and keep your signing on and match fees down,Odyssey have invested hard cash to provide you with quality kits. Children it's time to grow up. Cut all this crap, clean up this web site. put all your footballing energies back into training and playing football. MICK- SECRETARY Bramham fc Posted by Mick Fox on 14 December 2006 after seeing a bramham side get beaten by a team of tryers not footballers 7-1 at home i have to agree with mick fox start playing for the club or packup and start wrighting comic books. Posted by g.shooter on 16 December 2006 Saturday Although i don't want to take credit away from rich as he had a great game, i would like to point out that it was infact my cross that led to Nick Cravens header. Also regarding that miss, i can only apologise but the sun was in my eyes. Posted by Tasker on 13 December 2006 That would be a valid argument about the miss if it had not been in the 2nd half when the sun had gone down and what about the other 5 in the 1st half with the sun at your back, you are the white Andy Cole the only difference is we can understand what you are saying. Posted by Ted on 13 December 2006 Sorry Task. Credit where it is due then. The cross was yours. I didn't actually see the goal as I was childminding! Wonder who I was looking after???? Posted by Elliott on 13 December 2006 The 2nd Xl I would like to say that i was proud of the team on saturday. The team is playing for each other, Passing well and no one gets on anyones back. I have just been reading the big debate on the bramham devide. In My opinion both management teams do an excellent job at the end of the day we are BRAMHAM FOOTBALL CLUB. It is one of the Best clubs to play for round here. Posted by the plough on 12 December 2006 Well Said Plough ,What an inspired choice as captain you are turning out to be. Jacko wanted to call himself the player manager captain but i managed to talk him out of it as i thought it might be too much for him espescially with him and Deborah trying for a centre forward as well. Posted by Ted on 14 December 2006 where's the 2nds match report it never seems to be on the website until the end of the week ,why is this coz i know ted & jacko do it at the weekend Posted by on 12 December 2006 Im still haven't got a report for the seconds. Will put on web site when we have it!! Posted by chub on 12 December 2006 The 2nd XI match report is almost always done on a Sunday night by me & Rich puts it on asap. Usually by Tuesday night at the latest. Check more regularly! This week has been an exception as I didn't have time on Sunday to do it & we have a 6-a-side team on a Monday night. Anybody is welcome to do a mtach report if they can't wait until Tuesday night! Posted by Elliott on 12 December 2006 REF BABY BOOM its got nothing to do with me.i was playin for the team week in week out when all these babies were conceived.ive only missed lately, not months ago.still the fun you can have on a saturday afternoon with people who's partners are away playing football? Posted by on 11 December 2006 Rocker u only hav to ask jason how much shoutin i do on the pitch!! He still doesnt hear me tho, think he needs to take the £50 pound notes out of his ears!! lol! Hope the little tiny ulser isnt causing u any pain?? AAWWW!!! Posted by Mr Hughes on 11 December 2006 Match Report Jus wondering where the match report is for satdays game?? Gigsy United were looky!! Posted by Mr Hughes on 11 December 2006 where is it????????? Posted by on 11 December 2006 Well as you know I usually do the match reports after the game but I was on committee duty watching the second X1 for the 1st half of thier match with Pool. Now I know that most people think I make it all up and it bears no resemblance to what really happens, but even I thought it was asking a bit much to expect people to believe it,if they knew I wasn't there! No worries though I have a fledgling young reporter, Chirpy Chubster who will be filing his report. If he's forgotten what happened I'll make it up as usual. Posted by Rich on 11 December 2006 Driving Mr Daisy I Feeel it is my duty to inform all residents of Bramham & patrons of the White Horse about the strange being that has arrived in Bramham. If you go to your car on a saturday night and you find a plump grey haired man sat in the back of your car do not be alarmed it is only Ray Hick. Go into the pub buy a pint of Johns give it to Ray & when he has drunk it he will vacate your car to take his glass back to the bar . Under no circumstances talk to him or he will bore you to death telling you all about the goals his son scores for Bramham. Check the seat before you let your kids get in the back as he has been known to wet himself with excitement as he digresses to childhood and he thinks the owner of the vehicle is going to take him to Scarborough to drive a bumper car. Posted by Ted on 11 December 2006 Future Looks Bright It was good to get down to Boston on Saturday and watch a bit of the second team match against Pool.Really impressed with a lot of the young lads who are coming through.Particularly good to see them passing the ball around and not just lumping it up the field.Future looks fantastic! Posted by Rich on 10 December 2006 Please could you guys update Ryan Dowsons player profile, because he suggests that he is an apprentice installation engineer, which i add isn't true? He has now become Ronaldinho's dog body! Posted by Mr Concerned on 07 December 2006 Has Develly been dropped!!!!!We no hes fat and useless!!!!Richard Wilcock..whos he? Posted by Mr Hughes on 07 December 2006 becki how unlucky are you to have him as your teacher hope he talks more at school as he is as quiet as a mouse on saturdays Posted by rocker on 11 December 2006 Sorry, but I just refused a comment made by "anon". It refered to first team / second team spirit. I would have published it if you had put your name to it. Theres nothing wrong with a bit of "banter" between the firsts and the seconds. When I was a Garforth Town the banter between the firsts and seconds, or the "stiffs" as they were known, was murder!! Posted by the editor on 04 December 2006 I cant believe that anybody has any justification in questioning relationship between the 1st & 2nd team players . When we get back from games i always get asked how we have got on by the lads from the 1st team, we always have a laugh in the pub with the players from the 1st team so lets stop wittering on about 1st & 2nd team and if anybody does have a problem then they need to see me or Jacko and it will be addressed at the comittee meetings we have. GIGGSY YOU'VE GOT A BIG HOOTER & RONALDO IS A CHEATING DIVING B*****D.AND IS IT RIGHT THAT THE FIRSTS WON BY A NOSE ON SATURDAY. Posted by Ted on 05 December 2006 They are bound to ask the score.its just natural.how many first team players come back after the game though. Posted by Voice of the second team on 05 December 2006 Please don't claim to be the voice of the 2nd team. You don't speak for everybody. There's nothing wrong with the 1st team/2nd team relationship. Maybe it's just your attitude that needs addressing. Posted by Elliott on 05 December 2006 I thought we were all ONE TEAM.All this 1st/2nd team stuff is gettin pathetic.I'm not bothered who i play 4 as long as i get a game(ok jacko?) Posted by col on 06 December 2006 Col please explain your bracketted comment as it looks like a slur on the 2nd team manager and implicates that you think the stupid comments about 1st/2nd team spirit were somehow aimed @ you and were posted by him which is an impossibility because Jacko doest know where to turn the family computer on unless Nick has given him a crash course. Posted by Ted on 07 December 2006 i write on behalf of most, just have a look at there attitude not mine..letting good young players be wasted on the bench. is that wat the 'teams' really want. And is that what they really want all of 10 minutes on the pitch?????lets have a look at your attitudes before you start accusing the voice! Posted by voice of the second team on 07 December 2006 Ted, I think Col was simply having a dig because he was sub in his last outing with the seconds. Nothing more to read into it than that. Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 I bet the voice of the second team can't or won't answer this one. Who does he suggest the first team use as subs. Does he think we should go with no subs?? The first team rotation system works well. Nobody is sub more than one week on the trot. And players who do progress from the seconds allways get a good chance and play FULL games. Joe, JC, Booker, etc etc Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 Ted,chubs answer is 100% correct.I am the last person who as a 'DIG' about any side.I just want 2 play.As chris pointed out i'm just behind stevie wonder in the queue 2 play upfront.Ted how is the anger management course goin m8? Posted by Col on 07 December 2006 some how i dont think the system is as fairly used as it could be. some of the players hardly get there chance but its a matter of opinion. Posted by voice of second team on 07 December 2006 Fair enough i interpreted it wrong. Posted by Ted on 07 December 2006 Voice of the seconds, You didn't answer my question!! Who should we use as subs? And heres another question you won't answer because you can't. Who are we missing out on in the second team who you think we are overlooking?? Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 Soz Col , just defending Jacko both feet first. The anger management course was going great until some arse in a yellow hi vis jacket started pointing at where i should park so i whacked him and parked in a disabled bay. Then he asked me what my disability was to which my reply was tourettes you f*****g fat f*****g w****r. Good to see you back at the club i hope its regular now and the 1st team can kick on for promotion .And if your reading this Duncan refer to my reply to the car park attendant. Posted by Ted on 07 December 2006 chris elliots performances this year have been exceptional and deserves a run, what about the goal machine johnny reynolds. These are performing well????do you not think. Chubby You can be one of the subs then youre not as bothered if you dont get on!!!!!!!! Posted by voice of second team on 07 December 2006 Who is this "voice of the second team" anyway. Posted by Nick on 07 December 2006 To the voice of the second team. We have already given Chris a run with the firsts, John Reynolds certainly deserves a look, however you have already commented about second team players being used as sub and given 10 minutes. This is exactly what John Reynolds would get. We aren't exactly short of strikers at the minute. Jason, Ryan, Gaz, Giggsy, John Carrier. John Reynolds is going to have be be very good to get in front of those 5!!! I have no problem with subbing myself, and often do, but when the seconds have 18 players turning up it doesn't make sense not to take 3 with the firsts!! Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 most of this season giggsy has played centre mid, john has played on the wing and in the back three this weekend, jason has been injured, ryan has been told hes a winger on the right hand side. This leaves gaz so some how it doesnt look as bright now does it? Posted by the voice of seconds on 07 December 2006 Jason hasn't been injured at all!!! John has played several times up front, Giggsy has scored 6 in the last 4 games and our preferred pairing of Jason and Gaz have only notched 25 between them (the same as all the seconds put together). So changing that to bring anybody else isn't going to happen!! Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 but gigsy didnt play upfront thats what your tryin to imply?jason had a back injury so im sure your wrong again! Posted by voice of secon team on 07 December 2006 to say you are the voice of the seconds you seem to worry an awful lot about the firsts. Giggsy did actualy play up front on saturday, pushing on in a 5 man midfield, with only 3 at the back!!!!! And scored twice!!! Posted by chub on 07 December 2006 voice of the second team its gettin a bit childish now.uve made your points, get on with your life.who r u? Posted by Col on 07 December 2006 your brother Posted by voice of the seconds on 07 December 2006 Ted whos Ducan? Posted by on 07 December 2006 Unfortunatly , voice of the seconds , Colin knows you are not his brother because I work until 4.30pm & have no access to a computer at work! Posted by Tosh on 07 December 2006 To show that the spirit between the two teams is good Jacko & I are willing to give a run out with the 2nds to Phil, Matty,Jason & the Daft one with a big nose and number 11 on his jacket.Anyway lads 12.45 in the pub on Saturday, unfortunately we cant guarantee you a place every week so if it does turn out to be a one off dont take it personal & just keep plugging away with the firsts. Posted by Ted on 08 December 2006 ted dont forget about me and the little mouth of the second team kept it shut as by the sounds of it what you know about football you can write on the back of a postage stamp Posted by rocker gob of the 1st team on 11 December 2006 Mainly in response to Teds comments about giving me Matty a run with the seconds. Let me tell ya mate ill play for the seconds every week if its for the good of the club. I have put my hand up six times this season to be subbed to give the young lads a chance. I think i remember doing a 350 mile round trip to Helperby last year a week before Christmas cos you were short.Got a result as well. The bickering between firsts and seconds has been going on at Bramham for years. A trophy at Bramham FC is a trophy everyone has won. It makes me fucking sick listening to the drivel that i listen to on a Saturday afternoon. Grow up lads be proud of your football team and get behind the firsts and seconds and if anyone wants my position then come and ask me for it. Posted by Jason on 11 December 2006 would just like to remind the likes of James Develly to pay up his signing on fees as he thinks he will not pay them like last year Posted by signing on fees on 04 December 2006 I didnt pay last year because i didnt play. I'll have my signing on fee next week! Posted by develly on 04 December 2006 regarding the dummy being thrown out on sat. is this acceptable by all club members or will punishment take place and the player will be dropped for the next game...or will there be some sort of favourtism????? Posted by Very Concerned player on 04 December 2006 In reply to the two postings so far regarding player discipline. Yes i think the player in question was wrong , yes i think he should have stayed on the pitch. But we have all done things we later regret. As soon as i got to the pub the player in question was waiting outside the pub shook my hand and apologised for his behaviour and therefore as far as i am concerned the matter is closed. Football is a passionate game and sometimes our passion for the game gets the better of us lets not forget the player in question has served this club well for a number of years and there are few at the club today who have got as many minutes on the pitch as him and i would like to think there are many more minutes still to come. In the 3years i have been at the club this is the first time i have seen the said player react in the way that he did so lets put the incident to bed and concentrate on an away win on saturday and 3 points.Great 2nd half this week and we should have got 3 points because we deserved them. Posted by Ted on 04 December 2006 It seems to me that the issue has already been dealt with. I wonder who "very concerned" is? Posted by chub on 04 December 2006 do you think that this is the way that all clubs acknowlege this type of behaviour. If it had been other members of the team they wouldnt have the same response back im sure Posted by very concerned on 04 December 2006 When i did actually get a game i enjoyed playing with Tosh and think its totally out of charactor for him. It also gives me hope of playing again as lets face it his fitness levels aren't far off mine. Posted by develly on 04 December 2006 Will all the cowards who are bad-mouthing Tosh and hiding behind "clever" alias' stop being so pathetic. Yes I agree that Tosh was bang out of order but he apologised to Ted & Jacko and numerous players infront of other people and to their faces. He didn't hide behind another name or do it anonymously on this site. I for one as another senior player agree with Ted and think the matter has been dealt with. Are we a club that punishes players who are passionate about the club they play for? I hope not. If maybe a few other players had shown this passion the 2nds might be a little higher up the table (see Harald Styans away game match report. You know who you are). Tosh was immature, he's held his hands up & admitted this. Get off his case. We could do with a few more players like Tosh. Posted by Elliott on 04 December 2006 When Ripon came to play the 2nds this weekend not only did they have a first half perfomance by ourselfs to have a good laugh about, but in the second half when we starting to look like a team the stand in captain lost his dummy and stormed off the pitch. I can't believe a senior player would set that sort of example to the younger generation. Posted by Laughing Stock on 04 December 2006 Chub you may actually find that i have actually paid my full signing on fee, not using ay money won via the golden goal. Make sure you check the records Posted by Booker on 04 December 2006 Yes, you have paid in full. If you have a look at my comments on the news page yours was not one of the names mentioned as not paid, I simply haven't updated the player stats. I will do it now. Thanks for pointing that out. Posted by Chub on 04 December 2006 Signing on Fees Well, Chubby's bang on right about signing on fees. If you haven't paid cough up now. Its not fair on the guys that pay up on time when others have to be chased up week after week. We have a committee meeting on Tuesday and as as far as I'm concerned if you haven't paid then you don't play. PAY UP NOW! The committee is really trying to take this club places and you will all have seen the progress we have made with the changing rooms. We are committed to improving the pitch as well and you will have seen the arrival of the roller from Preston and the gang mowers which we got from near London. We will look all over the country to bring in what we need to make things better for all our teams Every week the pitch is marked out, the nets are up, the kit is washed, all you have to do is turn up. The least you can do is pay your subs, so if you haven't paid PAY UP NOW! To all those who have paid, thank you, enjoy your football in a club that is determined and committed to taking giants strides forward and to becoming a real power in local football Posted by Rich on 03 December 2006 i think the club needs to be having words with the management cos i paid sum of my money last week ... unless the ginger one decided on a few beers on me !!! glad to be back boys !!! Posted by drew on 01 December 2006 Thanks Drew usually update the site each week. Will be catching up with last weeks takings in next couple of days! Posted by on 01 December 2006 was it my brass draw Posted by shoots on 03 December 2006 Alot of people will be surprised at me bringing this up but...I wondered if anyone had thought of the club having a christmas 'social gathering' ?? Years ago we had regular ones , but we didn't have one last year...Maybe after the cup games on the 16th??...Any thoughts?? Posted by Tosh on 30 November 2006 Nobody will be surprised at you thinking about beer!! We will defo be having a night out, will discuss tomoro. Posted by chub on 01 December 2006 Count me in Tosh and i'm sure most of the lads will fancy it.There will be the usual suspects who say they are coming and then back out at the last minute(The Chubster may well be blushing now). It doesnt have to be anywhere fancy a night out in Wetherby will do so check your diaries lads we could be going out on a club night out. Posted by Ted on 01 December 2006 maybe its the thought of a night out in "Wetherby" or "The Crown" that causes people to "Bounce Out" I remember the good old days when people had vision that enabled them to see "Leeds" or "Wakefield" not just Tad or Wetherby!!!!!! Posted by chub on 01 December 2006 Or Barnsley Chub? Posted by Col on 01 December 2006 Oh yes, that was a good one!! Can't do that in Wetherby!!!!! Posted by chub on 01 December 2006 Since i have been at Bramham i've been on nights out in Leeds & Castleford both of which were poorly attended. So the Wetherby or Crown argument is a bit of a lightweight one to say the Least. As for the Barnsley comment which obviously must have been a night out in the good old days that Tosh referred to,but we can all reminisce with our pipe and slippers on. Posted by Ted on 01 December 2006 Chubby surprised you know your way out of the white horse or Garforth didn't think your misses would yet you stray as far as Leeds or Wakefield!!! Posted by Develly on 01 December 2006 Didn't see that many of the "Don't go out of Wetherby or Boston gays" in Bratislava on Trees stag do. Is that far enough out of The White Horse??? Posted by chub on 02 December 2006 Lads, all things must be considered when arranging a night out. If we go as far as Wakefield/Cas Vegas, will they let something like Develley in? Surely they won't have seen anything like that before? Plus an added bonus is Develley is on pub watch so can't go in to Wetherby. Sounds like no contest to me. Posted by Elliott on 02 December 2006 Develley, I don't think I have ever seen you at any point in the last 2 years without YOUR missus at your side. How many times have you seen my missus in the last two years?? A bit under the thumb I think!!! Posted by chub on 02 December 2006 A christmas do is meant to be somwhere special not just in the same old dives. The Wetherby and Boston gang only want to go there because they have never been anywhere else and you can bet your last dollar that there partners would turn up!! By surprise!!!!! Posted by concerned on 02 December 2006 Chris...Having seen some of the speicmens I have in Cas & Wakey , it's not a question of letting him in....It's will they let him leave a place like that??That could be an added bonus , surely !! Posted by Tosh on 02 December 2006 The football christmas do should be for players only. Develley is not a footballer. He is a person of low intelligence with a rather unfortunate visual effect. Posted by anon on 02 December 2006 to be fair lads all points regarding devellys lack of footballing ability are very true. you all hit the nail on the head. his 30 mins on saturday after tosh's tantrum have proved he is just fat and useless Posted by concerned on 04 December 2006 develly is well and truly under the thumb if we do go out on a christmas do, we will have to make sure that louise is invited aswell, or she will start crying. can't let her down any more can he. LOOSER Posted by anon on 04 December 2006 jess wilson Christmas has come early for Bramham Girls with the great news that insperational skipper JESS WILSON will be back playing in the new year. Jess broke a couple of bones in her wrist at the begining of November when she fell awkwardly under a heavy challenge. Medical reports were that her season was over, however after her latest visit to the hospital (29/11/06) for more treatment under general anastetic her medical team have announced that she has responded so well to treatment that she will now only need a light-weight cast for a further 3 weeks. Speaking to Jess last night she told me that she "will be back playing in 3 weeks and 1 day" what a great attitude. Unfortuneatly Jess will have to wait a little longer as we will be in the Christmas break. Looking forward to your return. Deb, Fran, Mick aand and all your team mates Posted by mick fox on 30 November 2006 If the club can afford a private medical team for the girls. As far as the 2nd X1 is concerned reports this season have been sent in by Ted or Chris, and I put them on the website as soon as they are received. If you want to do a report for any match, that would be great and I'll stick it on the website right away. Rich Posted by on 07 November 2006 tesco vouchers If any one has any tesco vouchers please can you leave them at the pub as we are now collecting them for the football club. Please be assured that we have no wish to withold any "winnings" as these are funds already written off the clubs books Posted by on 23 October 2006 |

I have my reasons for my exit the main one being my idea of football and the powers that be greatly differ.
The lack of respect being the other.
Those people who have stuck the boot in on the touchline and on the pitch today and over the last two seasons shame on you.
I have dragged my family all over the country to play for this club, a club that I have loved all my life.
I have been the most loyal servant this club has ever seen in all its history ignoring calls from much more illustrious leagues and divisions to play for this club.
I am sure the club will be a stronger force with somebody else captaining.
Farewell I wish the majority of the team all the luck in the world.
I am pretty confident this wont get published so I will just have to find another medium to get my announcement across.
A dissappointing end to my footballing career.
